For now, the only way you can watch Avatar: The Way of Water is to stream it with a Max subscription, which costs $9.99/month for new subscribers. (Get your Max subscription here.) You can also purchase the movie digitally on Prime Video.
Perhaps more than any other film in recent memory, “Avatar 2” was specifically designed to be viewed in 3D. While there are 2D screenings available at most theaters, it is by far the most visually limiting option.
How to Watch Avatar. Right now you can watch Avatar on Disney+. You are able to stream Avatar by renting or purchasing on Google Play, iTunes, Amazon Instant Video, and Vudu.
If you can't watch in IMAX 3D, the next best option is a Dolby Cinema, which offers 3D, 4K, and HFR, as well as HDR and Dolby Atmos sound, which some believe to be superior to IMAX sound systems. There's one drawback: the screen may not be as large, so you won't get the same immersive experience.
The experience will require 3D glasses. With or without glasses, Cameron believes 3D has a bigger place in Hollywood than some people think.
The same holds for watching it in 3D: If you're averse to glasses or 3D gives you a headache, you're welcome to watch it like a plain old movie.
The lush forests, deep oceans and floating mountains of Pandora are finally heading to your living room. James Cameron's blockbuster “Avatar: The Way of Water” is streaming on Disney+ and Max, formerly known as HBO Max, on June 7.
Finally, having an Amazon Prime account pays off. If you're a Prime member and haven't already signed up for a Max trial through Prime Video, now's your chance to take advantage of it and watch Avatar: The Way of Water for free.
Netflix's live-action adaptation series of Avatar: The Last Airbender is coming to Netflix in 2024.
Regardless of whether you want to see the movie in HFR, you should do your best to see it in 3D if that's at all possible for you.
Avatar is a film that explores an entirely new world, with new creatures and beings. Because of this, the 3D feature makes the world feel more immersive. Audiences are more easily able to connect with the wonder and emotions that the protagonist feels as he enters this new world.
Moreover, the film was created in 3D, and 2D will not do justice to its technical finesse. When it comes to 3D, there are a few options available: RealD 3D, Dolby 3D, and IMAX 3D. RealD 3D is one of the least 3D desirable options but it is better than 2D.

First you need to find an IMAX with Laser, then you specifically need the single laser version. Typically, dual laser would be better, but for Avatar specifically, you want the single laser IMAX because it can achieve Avatar's special high frame rate at 4K rather than 2K.
If you want to watch the film at home, you'll have to watch it on Disney+, or buy or rent it on Amazon Prime, Apple TV, Vudu, or another digital platform. That said, you can watch the Nickelodeon series Avatar on Netflix, and I strongly suggest that you do.

James Cameron's 2009 sci-fi film Avatar has been quietly removed from Disney Plus ahead of the movie's re-release in theaters next month. Via Collider, Disney's choice to remove the film from the streaming service is most likely a purposeful tactic to encourage people to head back to the theater.

Replace Eyeglasses with Contacts
You may avoid wearing glasses when watching a 3D movie. Instead, wear contact lenses if you have them. You can wear comfortably 3D glasses with contacts. The 3D glasses do not affect your vision power, but rather aid each eye in seeing brilliant, vivid images.
As mentioned above, the Avatar 2 Blu-ray 3D release has been confirmed in North America with a date scheduled for June 20th, 2023, which is a few weeks after it streams on Disney Plus. No date has been confirmed for the UK as of yet, but we're expecting it to be available on 3D for both regions when it comes out.
But again, in Avatar 2 almost this whole masterpiece was an HFR. Indeed, in our opinion, the HFR improves the feel of 3D, makes it more beautiful, and prevents eye fatigue, which is essential for a three-hour movie.
Since its release, the “Avatar” sequel has seen more than 56% of its tickets sold for 3D showings. These tickets averaged $16.30 a piece, while traditional 2D tickets sold for around $12.12 each. In 2022, 3D showings accounted for 7.7% of all ticket sales.
