The god Hephaestus once attempted to rape Athena, but she pushed him away, causing him to ejaculate on her thigh. Athena wiped off the semen and threw it on the ground, which impregnated Gaia.
Meanwhile Gaea, without help, gave birth to Uranus, the starry sky, to the Mountains, and to Pontus, the sterile sea. Uranus then became Gaea's mate and equal, for he covered her on all sides.
GAIA (Gaea) The goddess of the earth was accidentally impregnated by Zeus on two separate occasions: in Phrygia where she gave birth to the goddess Agdistis, and in Kypros where she bore the Kentauroi Kyprioi. HERA The queen of the gods wed Zeus in a secret ceremony back in the days of the Titan-War.
Antaeus was the half-giant son Poseidon and Gaia had while shagging in some weirdass way(don't ask me about how it happened greek mythology is weird). This guy was killed by Heracles in a weird way(a bear hug). So yeah Poseidon and Gaia had one child which was Antaeus.
Without male assistance, Gaia gave birth to Uranus (the Sky), who then fertilized her. From that union the first Titans were born — six males: Coeus, Crius, Cronus, Hyperion, Iapetus, and Oceanus, and six females: Mnemosyne, Phoebe, Rhea, Theia, Themis, and Tethys.
GAIA (Gaea) The goddess of the earth was accidentally impregnated by the seed of Hephaistos, when Athena cast the god's semen upon the ground after his attempted rape.
Shortly after coming into existence, Gaia created her male counterpart, Uranus, who covered her and assisted her in making the world full. It was Gaia who gave birth to the sea (Pontus), the mountains (the Ourea), and the first beings to inhabit the world she created and embodied.
Gaea, also called Ge, Greek personification of the Earth as a goddess. Mother and wife of Uranus (Heaven), from whom the Titan Cronus, her last-born child by him, separated her, she was also mother of the other Titans, the Gigantes, the Erinyes, and the Cyclopes (see giant; Furies; Cyclops).
So, when Poseidon raped Medusa she became pregnant. When her head was chopped off by Perseus, her children came to be. Pegasus and Chrysaor sprung from the severed neck of Medusa. Pegasus is also one of the most famous characters in Greek mythology, the winged white horse.
GAIA (Gaea) The goddess of the earth was a consort of Poseidon. She bore him numerous children including the giants Antaios and Kharybdis. HESTIA The goddess of the hearth was wooed by Poseidon and Apollon. But she, declaring her desire to remain a virgin, retired to the palace of Zeus and kept her maidenhood.
Aphrodite later and of her own volition had an affair with Zeus, but his jealous wife Hera laid her hands upon the belly of the goddess and cursed their offspring with malformity. Their child was the ugly god Priapos.
Zeus's Favourite Child Was Possibly Athena, Goddess of War
Perhaps partly because of the strange circumstances of her birth, Athena is often cited as Zeus's favourite child. He also greatly admired her strength of character and fighting spirit.
Uranus is the sky god and first ruler. He is the son of Gaea, who created him without help. He then became the husband of Gaea and together they had many offspring, including twelve of the Titans.
The children of Uranus and Gaea, six sons and six daughters: Oceanus and Tethys, Hyperion and Theia (parents of Helios, Se1ene, Eos), Coeus and Phoebe (parents of Leto and Asteria), Cronus and Rhea (parents of the Olympian deities), Crius (father by Eurybia of Astraeus, Pallas, and Perses), Iapetus (father of Atlas, ...
Then, according to the Theogony, Uranus mated with Gaia, and she gave birth to the twelve Titans: Oceanus, Coeus, Crius, Hyperion, Iapetus, Theia, Rhea, Themis, Mnemosyne, Phoebe, Tethys and Cronus; the Cyclopes: Brontes, Steropes and Arges; and the Hecatoncheires ("Hundred-Handed Ones"): Cottus, Briareus, and Gyges.
While Gaea resists, eventually she is put back to sleep, takes on a human form and slumps in Festus' claws. However, the demigods know it won't last long and Leo has Festus drop Jason and Piper while he hits Gaea with a massive blast of fire that, combined with an onager shot from Octavian, incinerates her.
Gaia (Ancient Greek: Γαῖα), also spelled Gaea, is the personification of the Earth in Greek mythology. She was a primordial being, one of the first to have sprung forth from the void of Chaos. She is the mother and wife of Ouranos (Father Sky), with whom she sired the Titans, the Hekatonkheires, and the Elder Cyclopes.
She was considered to be the first material thing born into the cosmos out of Chaos. She had her first children on her own, one of whom was Uranus (or the personification of the heavens). Uranus and Gaia had the 12 divine beings known as the Titans. The youngest of these, Kronos, overthrew his father.
She is credited as a lover of Pontus, the primordial god of the seas, and together they produced gods like Nereus (otherwise known as the old man of the sea), Thaumas, Phorkys, Keto, and Eurybia. Another lover of Gaia's was Tartarus, the primordial personification of the darkest depths of the Underworld.
Without a mate, Gaea brought forth three children: Uranus (the Sky), Ourea (the Mountains), and Pontus (the Sea).
A new book, 'The Medea Hypothesis,' looks at the opposite of the Gaia hypothesis and suggests that life on Earth is self-destructive.
THE GIGANTES were a tribe of a hundred giants born of the earth-goddess Gaia. According to some she was impregnated by the blood of the castrated sky-god Ouranos (Uranus).
Gaia was the Greek goddess of Earth, mother of all life, similar to the Roman Terra Mater (mother Earth) reclining with a cornucopia, or the Andean Pachamama, the Hindu, Prithvi, “the Vast One,” or the Hopi Kokyangwuti, Spider Grandmother, who with Sun god Tawa created Earth and its creatures.
