A cheater may install and use a VPN on their computer if they want to ensure that any internet searches or online activity related to their affair is completely hidden. Once they are done using the internet, they can turn off the VPN, fully concealing their activities.
Nine times out of ten, cheaters rely on covert mediums of communication. This can mean cheating spouse text message codes or decoy apps for cheaters. Viber, Signal, Snapchat, or any other app with a disappearing messages feature is the go-to for an unfaithful partner.
Cheaters often react to an accusation of cheating with denial, showing no guilt signs. This can be a simple 'no' or more of a statement of unwillingness to accept the accusation. Whatever the form, denial is likely to be one of the first responses to allegations of cheating.
Innocent people are commonly more open, because they know the truth will prove their innocence, whereas guilty people are likely to act in more fearful and evasive ways. For example, an innocent person may be more willing to cooperate with an investigation, while a guilty person may try to avoid it.
Although infidelity in a relationship is often subjective, there are common signs that point to cheating behaviors in a boyfriend. These may include a change in mood, increased distraction, less importance placed on the relationship, or more time spent on devices, among others.
Cheaters may lie or deny what happened.
They might also say things to make you doubt yourself, like “You're just being paranoid,” or “That's crazy, why would you think that?” This form of deception is called “gaslighting.” Spotting the difference between a lie and an honest denial can be tricky.

Before the Cheating Occurs
Before someone cheats in a relationship, he or she becomes mentally detached from the relationship. This may happen consciously or subconsciously. The person may not be getting something out of the current relationship, so he or she seeks that missing element in someone else.
Some feel really bad and truly regret it, others not as much. But no matter how much guilt or remorse a cheating person expresses outwardly, they all feel it inwardly to some extent. Cheaters are often able to separate themselves from their feelings and conscience.
