The gifts of the Spirit can be imparted by the laying on of hands, as was done in the Bible. Those who want to operate the gifts of the Spirit must seek God earnestly to grant them the gifts.
Others categorize them into "gifts of knowledge" (word of wisdom, word of knowledge, distinguishing between spirits), "gifts of speech" (tongues, interpretation, prophecy), and "gifts of power" (faith, healing, miracles).
Wisdom is the first and highest gift of the Holy Spirit, because it is the perfection of faith. Through wisdom, we come to value properly those things which we believe through faith.
The seven gifts of the Holy Spirit are an enumeration of seven spiritual gifts first found in the book of Isaiah, and much commented upon by patristic authors. They are: wisdom, understanding, counsel, fortitude, knowledge, piety, and fear of the Lord.
According to the Scriptures, these gifts include such ministries as faith, healing, prophecy, proclamation, teaching, administration, reconciliation, compassion, and self-sacrificing service and charity for the help and encouragement of people.
You will feel safe and secure with that person, emotionally and physically. When you share a spiritual connection with someone, it calms you during situations where you feel threatened or disheartened. Such people help you overcome your anxiety, low self-esteem and other emotional issues.
Spiritual Connection: When two people can sense or communicate with spirits together despite being non-spiritual in their daily lives. What is this? You feel inspired, energized, and creative when you're with them. It may be that they bring out the best in you or simply remind you of your truest self…
They can be attributed to the natural genetic material existing within all of us, passed down from generation to generation. Spiritual gifts, on the other hand, come directly from the Spirit of God; that's why they are called “gifts” in the first place!
Life will have meaning when we understand it is a gift, an amazing gift. Think for a moment about the things that you are worry about; I mean if you think seriously nothing is more precious or amazing than life itself. When you understand life is a splendid gift from above you will never miss out a thing.
Spiritual gifts are blessings or abilities given by God to His children through the power of the Holy Ghost. Gifts of the Spirit are given to bless and benefit those who love the Lord and seek to keep His commandments.
When you exercise faith in Jesus Christ, repent, and keep your covenants, you are eligible to receive spiritual gifts. Also, find situations where you can use your spiritual gifts. Remember that these gifts not only benefit you, but they can also benefit others (see Doctrine and Covenants 46:26).
Speaking in tongues is the least among the spiritual gifts (1 Cor. 12:28). God gave spiritual gifts so that church members can build each other up (1 Cor. 12:7).
John wrote: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” We know that the greatest and most precious gift ever was the gift of the Atonement of Jesus Christ given by both the Father and the Son.

Impartation has to do with the giving and receiving of spiritual gifts, blessin- gs, healing, baptism in the Holy Spirit, etc., for the work of the ministry. It is the transference of these “gifts” from one man or woman of God to another, especially through the laying on of hands.
It means “to understand or know something through the power of the Spirit. … It includes perceiving the true character of people and the source and meaning of spiritual manifestations” (Guide to the Scriptures, “Discernment, Gift of,” scriptures.lds.org).
