I believe you are trying to print the pdf from your physical printer. After opening the PDF go to the print Dialog box. On the Print dialog Box, On the Bottom Left there is a check box which says Print to file. Uncheck that check Box, you would be able to print from your physical printer.
Open Chrome, Go to Settings>Advanced>Privacy and security>Content settings>PDF Documents. Turn off "Download PDF files instead of automatically opening them in Chrome". Perfect! That solved the problem.
Sounds like your system has had the file association for the various file types associated with MS Word changed to use Acrobat or Reader. File association is controlled by the operating system. Applications (Adobe's or otherwise) do not.
1 Answer. In many cases when you go to File>Print and you get the print details box, you will have a small check box somewhere in it and this may be checked. This check box will say next to it “Print to File”. Uncheck this box once and then OK the Print.

What you can do is, right click on the file-> click on properties-> click change on the button where it says "Opens With"-> select Microsoft word-> click Apply-> Click OK. This should work for all the word files available on your system. Hope this helps.
You don't have a PDF reader or software downloaded. Your default settings on your PDF software might be set to a web browser. You haven't turned off Chrome's automatic setting to work as a PDF viewer. You have installed the Acrobat Chrome extension on your browser.
