Through the scriptures, we are taught that God will always hear our prayers and will answer them if we address Him with faith and real intent. In our hearts we will feel the confirmation that He does hear us, a feeling of peace and calm. We can also feel that everything will be fine when we follow the Father's will.
I've heard it said that God answers prayers in one of three ways. God says “Yes,” and you receive what you ask for. God says “No,” and you have to accept it and move on. Or God says “Not Yet,” and you learn to be patient and wait.
Pray with faith
The New Testament teaches, “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God … and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith” (James 1:5–6). Faith is a belief in things you can't yet see (see Hebrews 11:1). If you pray and sincerely believe that God will answer you, He will.
It is called the "Jesus Prayer", and it consists simply in uttering the single word "Jesus" (or "Lord Jesus", or "Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on me, a sinner") in any situation, at any time and place, either aloud or silently.
He gives us all we need for every good work, Ephesians 6.10-12. He provides escape from temptation, 1 Corinthians 10.13. And, He provides us with the necessary discipline in order to bring correction to our spiritual life, Hebrews 12.6-11. God provides us with His constant love and care.
One of the most powerful times to fight against the enemy, is the midnight hours. Midnight prayer is the prayer done from 12am to around 3am. This is the hour when the powers of darkness gather to take decisions and carry out their nefarious acts against their victims.
God hears all your prayers (Psalm 139:4, 1 John 5:14–15, 1 Peter 3:12) and, in one sense, he answers all your prayers. But we do not always receive what we ask for. When we ask God for something, the response will be 'Yes' or 'No' or 'Wait'.
He also speaks to us through the glory of His creation. Additionally, He speaks to us through His Holy Spirit and through dreams, visions and our thoughts. Further, God will use events and circumstances to speak with us. More often than not, God uses the people He has placed in our lives to speak to us.
Your prayers do not align with God's will.
Simply put, sometimes God doesn't answer our prayers because we are praying for the wrong things. And we may not be doing this out of malice, either, so much as out of ignorance. Perhaps we don't know enough of God's Word to know his will.
Prayer is simply talking to God -- and the most important thing I can say about this is that God wants you to talk to Him!
O Lord our God, keep us in peace during this night and at all times. Keep our hearts and thoughts secure in holy reverence for you, so that we may be protected at all times from the snares of the enemy.
The typical schedule for the Divine Hours follows a three-hour pattern, with prayers at 6:00 a.m., 9:00 a.m., noon, 3:00 p.m., and 6:00 p.m. In addition, there are evening prayers and morning prayers outside of these times.
Praying at night will calm the spirit and purify the soul, the sermon will say before inviting worshippers to call upon God to bless them by helping them become someone who stands for night prayers. “May Allah bless me and bless you with the Noble Qur'an and with the Way (Sunnah) of His Noble Prophet.”
God sees each of us through eyes of unconditional love, and He loves everyone—it doesn't matter what they do, where they work, how much money they have, how educated they are or what they look like. We need to do the same. We need to learn to see others as God sees them.
1 Samuel 16:7 – “For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart. '”
We must intentionally put our focus on Jesus and embrace our uniqueness and all that God has given us. He chooses to see us as right and justified because we are in His Son and we believe. He is so much greater than our flaws, struggles, and our past.
