Dial *67. This code will block your number so that your call shows up as an "Unknown" or "Private" number. Enter the code before the number that you're dialing, like so: *67-408-221-XXXX. This may work on cell phones and home phones, but it won't necessarily work on businesses.
Go to your Phone app and open the Keypad, enter the special code, "*67" and then input the phone number that you want to call and tap "Call" to start calling the one who blocked you. The special code is *67 in the US, *141 in UK and *1831 in Australia or New Zealand.
Once your carrier sets you up with a private number, you can still use *82 if you run into call rejection. This step temporarily unblocks your number on a per-call basis. While you're on the phone, call your internet provider, too.
If someone blocks your cell number, can you put *67 before it and text or call them? No - that won't work. The *67 function only stops the person you're calling from seeing the number.
Learn more here. You do not see updates to a contact's profile photo. Any messages sent to a contact who has blocked you will always show one check mark (message sent), and never show a second check mark (message delivered). Any calls you attempt to place will not go through.
Take some time before you reach out to the person who blocked you. As tempting as it may be to reach out, waiting is usually a good idea. It's totally natural if you're wondering what went wrong. However, you're probably not going to get answers now—especially if you and the other person are both upset.
Use a Different Phone Number
Buy a new SIM card or text them with a friend's or relative's phone (number). You can also set up an additional phone number on your device using apps like Google Voice, Skype, etc. Get an anonymous burner phone number if you don't want to use your “real” secondary number.
If you have confirmation that someone has blocked your contact on their phone, there's no way to unblock yourself remotely using any of your devices. To unblock your number, you need to either have physical access to the person's phone or talk the situation through with them and have them reverse the action.
*31# (Disable Caller ID)
If you want to keep your privacy and prevent others from knowing when you call them, you can disable caller ID by using this code.
It allows you to easily trace calls made to your phone number. Essentially, *57 records the calling number and other identifying information such as the date and time of the call. This information can then be used to request a complaint with your phone provider or to report the call to law enforcement.
If someone has blocked you, you cannot text them. However, there are various ways to message someone who has blocked you. Although these methods do not send text messages, they will undoubtedly convey your message.
If you don't want to withhold your number permanently, only before making a particular call, it's very straight forward to do. Simply type the numbers 141 before the phone number you plan to dial. This is the same system used on landlines but it also works on mobiles.
That said, there are no straightforward methods to unblock yourself on WhatsApp. You will either have to delete your account and then setup the account or change your account to start using the messaging platform, which has over 2.24 billion monthly active users worldwide, again.
Check Call barring
Call barring lets you block incoming or outgoing calls to and from your phone. This may be useful if you keep receiving unwanted telemarketer calls or want to avoid expensive international calls. To check if the feature is enabled on your device, dial *#33#.
To hide your number for one call, enter 141 before the number you're calling. If you've hidden your caller identity, enter 1470 before the number to show it for that call. If you want to hide your number for an international call, enter 00 instead of + before the number you're calling.
Dialing ##002# deactivates any conditional or unconditional call forwarding settings on your account and also deletes any data such as messages or voicemails that were previously diverted to another number. This code only applies to phones on GSM networks such as AT&T or T-mobile.
However, the person you've been blocked by will never receive that message. Note that you don't get a 'Delivered' notification like you usually would, but this in itself is not proof that you've been blocked. They could simply not have any signal, or an active internet connection, at the time you sent the message.
The psychology of blocking someone can evoke indignation and a sense of rejection, reminiscent of the social dynamics of high school. Blocking someone sends a clear message, but it's a cowardly move to run away and hide behind our devices.
Give them time before reaching out.
When someone has blocked you, there is something fundamentally wrong. Either they don't trust you to leave them alone or they don't want to have to breakup with you in a mature way or something else. So if you ever reach out to them, you have made a move out of order.
