To loosen any baked-on grease, pour a mixture of dish soap, hot water, and baking soda in the bottom of your glassware. Additionally, you can use a dryer sheet, baking soda and vinegar, a Magic Eraser, toothpaste, or denture cleaning tablets to weaken the stain.
Simply take a warm, wet sponge to the stains with a few drops of dish soap, then rinse. If your stain is more stubborn, try adding baking soda to the mix. Its mild, abrasive properties (plus a little elbow grease) should do the trick.
For a more heavy duty cleaning, add white vinegar to the baking soda and let kitchen chemistry help break down burnt food on your scorched pan. Remove as much food and debris from the pan as possible. Add a enough white vinegar to cover the bottom of the pan with at least ½ inch of liquid.
How It Works: Fill your dirty pan with equal part water and vinegar. Bring the mixture to a boil and then add 2 tablespoons of baking soda. Remove from heat and let soak for up to 15 minutes. Discard the liquid down your drain and then use a sponge or scouring pad to scrub away any remaining burnt-on bits.
Use Cornstarch and Vinegar
Cornstarch and vinegar work in tandem to remove grease stains from fabric, and it's no different with glass pans. Combine cornstarch, vinegar, and water (1 teaspoon each) in your Pyrex pan and use a mesh scrubber (and some elbow grease) to remove the stains.
How do you remove dried grease? A mixture of dish soap, kosher salt, and baking soda can help remove dried grease. You may also want to use a mildly abrasive sponge (rather than a rag) to help lift off the grime.
Both non-toxic and safe to use around food surfaces, baking soda (a natural alkali) and vinegar (a natural acid) work together to help lift off stubborn stains and grease for easy wiping.
Grease can be removed using white vinegar. Apply vinegar to a damp towel or sponge and soak the oily area. Next, clean it up. It should start to dissolve the grease almost immediately, but it's crucial to use it only on non-porous surfaces like glass and metal.
Vinegar's acidity helps cut through grease easily. Spray some vinegar and water mix onto a splattered stovetop, let it sit for 10 minutes, and then scrub down with soapy water. It should wipe right off. If not, leave it to sit a bit longer.
Greasy surfaces
Vinegar just doesn't work on removing grease from surfaces because it is an acid. Use an alkaline soap, such as dish soap, for oil spills and messes.
Never use a wire scrubber or steel wool on a glass baking dish. Although glass doesn't scratch easily, it still gets scratched, and also, using steel wool or wire scrubber reduces the dish's shine. Even an abrasive scrubber is not recommended most times but can be used gently.
How to clean a glass oven door. Baking soda is not a good choice for the oven door because it is abrasive and will scratch the glass. Wiping the door with a microfibre cloth and some distilled white vinegar will do the job.
Create a cleaning solution with 1-part baking soda, 2 parts warm water and the lemon juice. Add the solution to a spray bottle and spray the liquid onto the kitchen cabinets. Leave for 2-3 minutes, allowing the baking soda to work its magic. Use the soft sponge to gently scrub the grease away.
Use a 50:50 mix of boiling hot water and white vinegar. The hot water will melt the fat; the vinegar removes it from the lining of the pipes, and the flow of the water will carry it away down the pipe, so follow up with more hot water in a few minutes.
Although mixing vinegar and baking soda is not considered dangerous, you should still avoid mixing these in a container. Vinegar is acidic and basic soda is basic, so the by-products are sodium acetate, carbon dioxide, and water that are not toxic.
Soda. While the pan is still hot, pour soda (either club soda or an inexpensive store-brand soda) and coat the bottom of the pan. Allow the carbonation in the soda to loosen the burnt grime then wash the pan clean.
Next time you're faced with a pot or pan covered in baked-on food, don't immediately reach for the scrub brush. Instead, try soaking with dishwasher detergent for an easy and effective way to remove the food without any elbow grease.
