When you ignore a conversation, the person won't know. From Chats, tap on the conversation you want to ignore. At the top, tap the person's name. Tap Ignore Messages, then Ignore.
Keep a check on the delivery icon for both accounts. If the other person's delivery icon changes from Sent to Delivered and yours is still showing Sent, it means they have Ignored you.
The Ignore Messages option unexpectedly vanished in 2022, as the function's name was changed to “Restrict.” This change is only limited to the Messenger app on Android and iOS devices, as the feature is still called “Ignore Messages” on a PC browser or desktop app.
You won't be able to call or message them. You won't see your conversation with them in your Chats list. We won't tell them that you restricted them. They won't be able to see when you're online or if you've read their messages.
If there is no message button, then the user chose not to allow messages from others. Sometimes, the Add Friend button is also not an option. It all depends on the user's settings. Account settings for “Who can send me friend requests?” and “Who can send me message requests?” are separate.

Someone might be avoiding you if they stop calling, texting, and contacting you altogether. If you try to talk to them, they might avoid eye contact with you. Try confronting the person if you feel they're avoiding you. Ask them why they're doing it—or apologize if you know you made a mistake.
When someone's ignoring texts on purpose, don't send them angry text messages, it's not worth it. If you really want to know how they're feeling, then ask them. But, it's best if you just move on. If someone doesn't want to talk to you, why push it?
Typically, the message doesn't get delivered instantly due to some delay in the network and issues with connection requests. It could be a poor internet connection, a Messenger server problem, or a recipient's connection and lack of data storage space.
Ignoring someone on Messenger moves the chat to your Spam folder so you won't be notified of replies. When you're ready, you can easily unignore the chat just by replying to conversation.

It means they may have modified their privacy settings and they may have it set so that you have to have mutual friends with them to add them. Or if you sent them a friend request already they have denied it and marked it as spam or that they don't know you. This removes your ability to send them a new one.
If you're not able to send someone messages on Facebook, that may be one of these reasons: Either you blocked the user or you've been blocked by them. The user has deactivated their Facebook account. Other members except you have left the group so you can't message the group.
To find out if someone has blocked you on Messenger, you should first send them a message. If your message is not delivered, even after the recipient has been online, you're most likely blocked. To tell if your message isn't delivered, it will have an empty circle with a check mark for an icon.
In all of these cases, it would be okay, if not necessary, to block such persons from contacting you on Messenger. Keep in mind that you can still be friends on Facebook with a person you've blocked on Messenger.
You can also block them from their profile. How to restrict someone: Instead of blocking a person, you can restrict them. This means the conversation is moved from your chat list and they can't see when you're active.
When you add someone to your Restricted list, you'll still be friends with them on Facebook, but they'll only be able to see your public information (example: your posts and profile info you choose to make public) and posts you tag them in.
Will calls ring if the person you call on Messenger has ignored you? Yes. Even if they've put you on mute, if you call, their phone will ring.
Messenger uses small, circular icons that show up in the lower right the message window. If a friend has read your message, you'll see a miniature version of their profile picture. If they haven't, you'll see a blue icon with a white checkmark indicating the message has been delivered, but not yet read.
