Stiffness when you wake up: If you've been finding it harder to get up in the mornings, it could be to do with your lymph drainage function. You might have stiff and creaky joints, soreness and general achiness – especially when you first wake up – if your lymphatic system isn't draining excess fluids as it should.
Many have reported that they feel a feeling of tingling or flow of fluid under the skin, much like a small stream. Others report the feeling of being able to breathe deeply for the first time in a while because of the lymphatic flow in the sinuses.

Deep breathing

Exercise. Regular exercise is key for a healthy lymphatic system. Start with less vigorous training sessions, and try to slowly incorporate more intense exercises to your routine. The most stimulating exercise for the lymphatic system is rebounding on a small trampoline.
Drinking sufficient water throughout the day encourages healthy lymphatic function and reduces water retention.
In a healthy body, the lymphatic channels from the liver and mesentery drain toward the thoracic duct, which is the main lymphatic vessel responsible for lymph drainage. In most people, the thoracic duct drains into the subclavian vein on the left side.
A lymphatic drainage massage is a two-step process: Clearing: This step releases lymphatic fluid in your tissues. Reabsorption: This step moves your lymphatic fluid to your lymph nodes.
Used lymph enters the bloodstream, where toxins are ejected from the body and water is recirculated via the kidneys and liver. Because the pressure circulating lymph is very low, it's easy for minor illnesses or infections to block the lymphatic drainage pathways.
Hydrotherapy
Specifically, using hot and cold water can cleanse the lymphatic system. Why is hydrotherapy one of the fastest ways to cleanse your lymphatic system? The hot water helps dilate blood vessels while the cold water causes them to shrink. This creates a 'pump' action that pushes the fluids through your body.
The lymph fluid carries the waste products and destroyed bacteria back into the bloodstream. The liver or kidneys then remove these from the blood. The body passes them out with other body waste, through bowel movements (poo) or urine (pee).
It Improves the Lymphatic System
Lemon water is especially beneficial in stimulating the lymphatic system and this helps eliminate toxins from the colon, lymph glands, and bladder. Ginger makes this process work even efficiently and prevents several chronic illnesses such as cancer.
Possible side effects of lymphatic drainage massage can include: Increased urination/bowel movements: after the massage, the lymph waste will need to be removed from the body.
Infection: An infection may increase lymphatic system damage. Having obesity: People who have obesity may have excess fat (adipose tissue) that puts pressure on lymph nodes and vessels. That extra pressure may affect lymphatic drainage.
Physical activity encourages fluid to drain into the lymphatic system in the abdomen. Walking, swimming, yoga, pilates and Tai chi all might help to encourage the lymph to move. Pelvic floor exercises may also help. These target and strengthen the muscles in your pelvis.
Increased metabolic rate
A healthy lymph system contributes to a healthy metabolic rate: the higher your metabolic rate, the more fat your body burns. Regular lymphatic drainage treatments prevent your metabolic rate from slowing down. It stimulates weight loss and helps to avoid weight gain.
The skin can ooze a clear or yellow fluid, and/or can have a foul-smelling odour. If lymphoedema is left untreated and the swelling gets worse, skin changes may occur - erythema of the affected area and thickening of the skin, which appears as peau d'orange skin and woody oedema.
One of the ways a patient will know that Manual Lymph Drainage is working is the common side effect of getting a dry mouth or dry eyes (if you wear contact lenses they should be removed prior to the session). After lymphatic drainage, some patients may experience fatigue, overwhelming thirst, and nausea or vomiting.
