With the new Blade Cover & Peeler, your Thermomix® TM5 or TM6 will effortlessly peel your potatoes and root veg for you. Here are some simple how-tos: The Blade Cover & Peeler is placed over the blade. To do this, hold it by the central plastic insert and make sure the shaft with the peeler is correctly positioned.
The Thermomix® Blade Cover & Peeler can be used in either of two ways. You can use it to peel or scrub potatoes and other vegetables or to prevent food from coming in contact with the mixing blade. The Blade Cover & Peeler can be used to cook food in the mixing bowl at temperatures up to 212°F.
Slice, dice, and grate vegetables with ease using the Thermomix® Cutter – the ultimate all-in-one vegetable slicer, mandoline and food processor! Discover the benefits of adding more vegetables into your meals, and quick and easy recipe ideas!
Now, on to the cons.
The Thermomix doesn't come cheap, and we're not just talking about the cost of the appliance itself. The additional accessories and attachments can really add up, so be prepared to sell a kidney (just kidding, please don't do that).
Peel potatoes using your Thermomix® with the WunderPeeler! The WunderPeeler is simply attached to the mixing blade and rotates during the peeling process. The rotating abrasion disc ensures that the skin of the potato is thoroughly and efficiently removed and finely grated in the peeling water.
Chop. Turn your TM6 into a vegetable chopper! With the chop function, you can finely chop or dice onion, garlic, carrots, and other hard vegetables.
Some vegetable types cannot be peeled with the new peeler, e.g. frozen vegetables, vegetables with very thick skins or very thin skins, such as tomatoes. Our favourite vegetables to use with the Blade Cover & Peeler 'peeler' function are potatoes, beetroot, carrots and turnips.
Place potatoes, water and oil into mixing bowl, place simmering basket instead of measuring cup onto mixing bowl lid and increasing speed gradually, start peeling 4 min/speed 1-4. Rinse and drain potatoes through Varoma dish and set aside. Remove peeler. Discard peeling water and peels (see Tip).
Available at Checkout. With the new Thermomix ® spatula, you can stir and mix safely and comfortably – even when the machine is running. The hook on the edge is essential for easily (and safely) removing the simmering basket out of the mixing bowl. The good news is, the new TM6® spatula is perfect for use in the TM5.
For professional kitchens, Thermomix has become the tool of choice for blending, purées, hot and cold sauces, ice-cream mixes, crème pât, and much more. Thermomix purées are so fine that you can reduce or eliminate passing/sieving.
Cut, slice, and grate at the touch of a button
With the Thermomix® Cutter, you can perfectly slice and grate cucumber, potatoes, and other fruits and vegetables, for stunning salads, oven-baked dishes, and tons of your other favourite recipes.
If you don't already own a high-powered blender, a stand mixer, a slow cooker, a rice cooker, a sous vide and a steamer, the Thermomix makes an adequate stand in for all of these—if you have the budget to shell out two grand.
Product Safety Australia (PSA) has advised that the Thermomix TM6 measuring cup - supplied with the Thermomix TM6 appliance and sold individually - has been recalled.
How long are they typically supposed to last? Hi Meg, it can vary between customers and how you use your Thermomix®. Some customers have them 5+ years and others can need new ones after 2 years.
