The difference between a circumcised and uncircumcised penis is the absence (or presence) of foreskin — the sleeve of skin around the head of the penis. A circumcised penis has had the foreskin surgically removed to expose the glans (the head of the penis). On an uncircumcised penis, the foreskin remains.
That said, “studies show that there is no significant change in sensation in adult men who undergo circumcision,” says Dr. Alex Shteynshlyuger, director of urology at New York Urology Specialists.
The penis normally becomes swollen after surgery. The swelling is usually greatest between the line of the circumcision and the ridge of the head of the penis. This skin has a different color and is usually pink. The swelling gets worse for the first few days after surgery and then slowly resolves.
Back in the 1950s, roughly 80 per cent of Australian men and boys were circumcised. That rate has steadily decreased and now, around 20 per cent of Australian newborns are circumcised. This is largely due to developments in modern medicine.
Eventually, the foreskin should be retracted far enough during urination to see the meatus (the hole where the urine comes from). This prevents urine from building up beneath the foreskin and possibly causing an infection. As long as the foreskin doesn't easily retract, only the outside needs to be cleaned.
Most boys will be able to retract their foreskins by the time they are 5 years old, yet others will not be able to until the teen years. As a boy becomes more aware of his body, he will most likely discover how to retract his own foreskin. But foreskin retraction should never be forced.
Avoid all forms of sexual activity for four to six weeks after surgery. Erections, in general, should be avoided; however, erections that occur while sleeping cannot be controlled and thus some pain upon waking is normal.

Foreskin restoration is something that you can do if you were circumcised as a child. It is a method or practice to regrow your foreskin. There are a few different options for foreskin restoration including surgery and skin stretching tools.
Results: There were no significant differences in sexual drive, erection, ejaculation, and ejaculation latency time between circumcised and uncircumcised men. Masturbatory pleasure decreased after circumcision in 48% of the respondents, while 8% reported increased pleasure.

Garrison also notes that it's possible for both uncircumcised and circumcised men to develop smegma. (It's also common in women, where it's most likely to appear between the folds of the vagina's labia or around the clitoral hood.)
In some Antambahoaka communities, during the Sambatra ceremony the grandparents will eat the foreskin of their newly circumcised grandchild.
According to Jewish law, the foreskin should be buried after a brit milah. The rite is considered of such importance that in Orthodox communities, the body of an uncircumcised Jewish male will sometimes be circumcised before burial.

During childhood, the foreskin gradually starts to separate from the glans, so children can start to pull it back. But even at 10 years, the foreskin often can't be fully pulled back because the opening at the end is too tight. The foreskin might not fully separate from the glans until after puberty.
Normally, by the time a boy reaches 16 years of age, he should be able to easily retract his foreskin. This is true in 1% to 5% of men. If they cannot retract the foreskin by this age, they may possibly have phimosis.
You may also be shown how to gradually retract the foreskin after a bath, using petroleum jelly (Vaseline) or some other form of lubrication. But if the problem persists, circumcision may be necessary.
