Angel (David Boreanaz) is resurrected mysteriously by the unseen Powers That Be. While
In season three (1998–1999), episode three, "Faith, Hope & Trick", Angel is inexplicably returned from hell by an unknown party and is soon found by Buffy.
The Ritual of Restoration was a curse to restore a vampire's soul. It was used on Angelus by the Kalderash people after the notorious vampire murdered their most beloved daughter. When Angel's curse was broken in 1998, Willow Rosenberg performed the spell a second time to restore his soul.
In the episode "I Will Remember You," Angel becomes human, much to his and Buffy's emotional and physical satisfaction. But, in typical Joss Whedon fashion, this happy moment is quickly flipped into something awful and tragic.
Angel/Angelus
Angel lost his soul twice: first, when he slept with Buffy Summers, and again, due to a spell.
Willow rushes to L.A. to help, which gives fans a fab easter egg where Willow (Alyson Hannigan) gets to interact with her real-life husband Alexis Denisof, who plays Wesley. Willow returns Angel's soul, and brings Faith back to Sunnydale to help fight The First, making Faith officially one of the good guys again.
Cordelia fell into a coma giving birth to Jasmine, and a season later she died offscreen in a hospital bed, the events leading up to her death erased from history.
A Hole In The World
Upon discovering that releasing the spirit would kill thousands, they had no choice than to allow Fred to die. Her heroic sacrifice remains the show's most heartbreak moment and one of its saddest episodes. Fred's death hit Wesley the hardest, as they had just become a couple.
Angel's ratings in season 5 were actually up on season 4, making the lack of renewal even more of a shock, although the common reason given behind the move is that Whedon pressed John Levin, WB's Head of Entertainment, for an early decision on the show rather than the typical mid-May renewal.
It ended with him giving up his humanity so that he can help keep Buffy safe and so that he can help dave others. Only he's burdened with the memory of that day; Buffy doesn't know it ever happened.
Later, in Angel's perfect-day dream sequence, Angel and Cordelia consummated their relationship, but Angel called out "Buffy!" as he lost his soul, just as he did in Sunnydale years earlier.
After killing a nest of vampires, Illyria revealed to the group that Angel was no longer a vampire, leaving Connor feeling angry and betrayed.
"There's No Place Like Plrtz Glrb"
In the season 2 finale of Angel, the Angel Investigations team arrives back to the hotel to find a grief-stricken Willow sitting, waiting for them with some bad news: Buffy is dead.
"Becoming, Part Two" is the season finale of the second season of Buffy the Vampire Slayer television show, and the thirty-fourth episode in the series. Written and directed by Joss Whedon, it originally broadcast on May 19, 1998, on The WB network.
Angel: “That I'm okay. That losing Buffy didn't kill me. That I could deal with it. In all those years, no-one ever mattered, not like she did, and now she's gone forever.”
Buffy finally reveals the truth about actually being in Heaven to everyone, albeit, after being forced to do so by Sweet. Before this, Spike is the only one to know that the Scoobies had pulled her out of Heaven with their resurrection spell, being told so in the episode "After Life."
In the season finale, Cordelia arranges to meet Angel to confess her feelings, but is prevented from doing so by Skip, who informs her that she has become a higher being. Cordelia accepts her duty, and leaves Earth for another dimension.
One producer says the writers on “Buffy” enjoyed writing for Carpenter's character. But, the source adds, the attitude around Carpenter grew more hostile after she moved over to “Angel,” where she was ultimately written off the show after her pregnancy. A spokesperson for Carpenter declined to comment for this story.
However, various events (particularly Cordelia's possession by Jasmine) kept them from admitting their feelings to each other, although shortly before Cordelia died, they revealed their love for one another and shared a single kiss. She died loving Angel, knowing that Angel loved her back.
Angelus terrorizes Willow and the Gang at school, emotionally tormenting Buffy. Later, as they discuss Angel's transformation in the library, Buffy realises that having sex with Angel is what caused him to turn evil.
Darla attempted to turn Angel against the Slayer, and to bring him back to their side, but she failed, and Angel killed her.
Season two, episode 14 – Innocence
After Buffy and Angel sleep together, Angel loses his soul, reverting to his supremely evil Angelus persona and teaming up with Drusilla and then villainous Spike.
Last month's issue, "Slayer, Interrupted," ended with Buffy discovering she's pregnant, and in this month's issue (the sixth in the Season 9 series), she turns to the person who best knows what it means for a Slayer to have a child: Robin Wood (played by D.B.
Wilson and Cordelia kiss again and spend the night together in lovemaking. She wakes the next morning to an empty bed and is horrified to find she has grown very pregnant.
Cordelia loves her father as much as any child loves their parent but does not feel she can flatter her father by making him feel there is no room in her heart for any other love.
