Maleficent is an enormously powerful magical being, since she is the personification of pure evil. She displays the following powers: Teleportation: Maleficent is capable of transporting herself from one place to another with a wave of her staff.
Maleficent is herself directly descended from the last of the phoenix, explaining why the scale of her powers is beyond even the other Dark Faeries. She also gives them a stronger tie to the forces of magic in the world.
Maleficent is known to be the most powerful Disney villain. She describes her own skills as “All the powers of Hell.” Her powers are all magic based. With her staff she can conjure up spells for example projection, divination, telepathy, superhuman strength, petrification, protection charms and teleportation.
While Maleficent, the strongest of the fairies, rises to become her homeland's fierce protector.
Maleficent has to be the most powerful villain of all time. Unlike her other equivalent, Jafar, she doesn't need some extra, external magical source to draw her power from. She has it in spades, capable of even turning into a massive fire breathing dragon that very few could hope to defeat.
But overall Scarlet Witch is more powerful, even if Maleficent may edge out in some areas.
1 Cruella de Vil (One Hundred and One Dalmatians)
Weaknesses. Iron: The slightest contact could burn her skin, and prolonged exposure could weaken her dramatically. However, when determined enough, Maleficent was able to snap an iron chain holding a chandelier with her wings, proving that even iron could barely slow her down when she was at her most dangerous.
Maleficent's powers come from a phoenix. The Dark Fey are living in imposed exile thanks to their conflict with humans. Chiwetel Ejiofor's Conall and Ed Skrein's Borra are two leaders of the Dark Fey introduced in the film. Conall dies while saving Maleficent later.
One of the most worthy adversaries Maleficent could face would be Doctor Strange. As the Sorcerer Supreme, he's the most powerful sorcerer in existence, and possesses abilities beyond even Maleficent's comprehension. His powers of teleportation would render most of her spells useless when he abruptly disappears.
The way Maleficent loses her magnificent wings is unsettling. Stefan, the man who Maleficent thinks loves her, drugs her. While Maleficent is unconscious, incapacitated, Stefan tries to work himself up to the task of killing her. Instead he cuts off her wings (offscreen thankfully).
[Spoiler Warning] After Maleficent is killed while saving Aurora, she turns to dust, and Aurora sheds several tears over her ashes. The powerful expression of spontaneous love in turn resurrects Maleficent, causing her to literally rise from the ashes as a phoenix.
The three fairies cast an enhancing enchantment on Phillip's Sword of Truth, which he throws into Maleficent's heart, mortally wounding her before she falls off the crumbling cliff to her death.
Ursula is quite the powerful witch, but Maleficent is more powerful. Ursula's look like parlor tricks against Maleficent. The former also has more non-combat spells. It would be a big fight and Maleficent won't walk away unscathed but she would still end up victorious.
Professor Ratigan. Possibly the smartest, or at least one of the smartest, Disney villains of all time, Professor Ratigan almost had the crown of England's royalty sitting on his head in THE GREAT MOUSE DETECTIVE.
Shan Yu, as the leader of the invading Mongol force in Mulan, indisputably has the highest kill count of all Disney villains. Under his command, soldiers invaded, pillaged, and killed Chinese civilians and soldiers.
After the painful loss of her wings, Maleficent becomes enraged over his treachery, and as her heart of gold turns to stone, she becomes the evilest magical being in the land.
Weapons and implements made from cold iron are often granted special efficacy against creatures such as fairies and spirits. In the Disney film Maleficent, the title character reveals early on that iron is lethal to fairies, and that the metal burns them on contact.
Plot. Maleficent is a powerful fairy living in the Moors, a magical forest realm bordering a human kingdom. As a child, she meets a human peasant boy named Stefan, and they both fall in love with each other.
On Maleficent's sixteenth birthday, Stefan kissed her. However, after some period of time after this, he didn't come to see Maleficent. Stefan later betrayed her and stole her wings, so he would be able to become the new king. Stefan later married Leila, Henry's daughter, and she became his wife and queen.
Queen Ingrith is a worthy adversary to the dark fairy Maleficent, with an evil plan to divide humans and fairies forever. She was portrayed by Michelle Pfeiffer.
