As you can see on the above schedule, Disney's Magic Kingdom is almost always open until 10:00 pm and on busier days, such as in March it's open until 11:00 pm on most evenings. On the busiest days of the year, Magic Kingdom will stay open until midnight.
They don't ever "kick" you out. We've gotten some great pictures later at night by waiting around, but we've never stayed to be the last people in the park.
Disney After Hours is a specially ticketed event (meaning it's a ticket that is purchased separate from regular park tickets) that allows people to enter Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom at 7 p.m. and stay until midnight or 1 a.m. (ending time varies by date).
OPENING PROCEDURE The Magic Kingdom generally opens Main Street, U.S.A., to guests up to a full hour before the park's official opening time. Thus, if the park opens at 9 a.m., the Magic Kingdom will allow guests to enter the park and roam Main Street and the Central Plaza starting at 8 a.m.
Early Theme Park Entry is Walt Disney World's newest iteration of what was formerly known as "Extra Magic Hours" and is available daily. Extended Evening Hours are available on select nights at select theme parks for guests staying at Deluxe Resorts, Deluxe Villa Resorts, and other select resorts.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Extra Magic Hours have been on hold indefinitely. However, Disney announced today that Extra Magic Hours have been permanently cancelled and instead will be replaced with new “Early Theme Park Entry” for all resort guests. This is sad news for fans of “rope dropping”.
Morning Extra Magic Hours allow Disney resort guests into the theme parks an hour before everyone else. That gets you into the park as early as 7:00 a.m. or 8:00 a.m., depending on the time of year and the park.
As you can guess if Monday is the busiest, Tuesday tends to be the best day of the week to go to Magic Kingdom. We also find Thursday to be one of the least busy days of the week at Magic Kingdom, with Sunday being a great weekend option.
What is Early Theme Park Entry? Early Theme Park Entry allows Disney Resort Guests (as well as guests from other select hotels) the opportunity to enter any of the 4 theme parks (Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Animal Kingdom, and Hollywood Studios) 30 minutes before non-Disney Resort guests.
The first two to three hours of every day are the time of the lowest crowds of the day. It's almost Magical. The wait time for Space Mountain at 10:00 am is usually around 20-30 minutes.
At night, the parks come alive with a wonderful energy. This is especially true at the Magic Kingdom, which has fantastic ambiance that just cannot be replicated during the day. Beyond that, the overall sensory experience of the Magic Kingdom seems heightened at night.
Tip #2 – Don't Try To Do Everything at Magic Kingdom
Unless you're visiting Magic Kingdom on a rare slow day or you pay for a V.I.P. tour, it is very unlikely that you'll be able to do every attraction at the park. Focus on hitting the best attractions and not stressing about the wait times.
Of its 24 rides, only four – Space Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, TRON Lightcycle / Run, and (at a push) Seven Dwarfs Mine Train – classify as thrill rides. For adult Guests who are all about the adrenaline rush, that does theoretically mean you can tick off Magic Kingdom in half a day.
April 18, 2023 Update: Starting today, Walt Disney World Annual Passholders will be able to visit the theme parks after 2 pm without needing a Disney Park Pass reservation, except on Saturdays and Sundays at Magic Kingdom. All Annual Pass blockout dates will continue to apply.
The Disney Channel's 65th episode rule refers to a policy that the channel had in place for several years, which stated that a television series produced for the channel should not exceed 65 episodes. Once a show reached its 65th episode, it was typically not renewed for another season.
The answer is the MagicBand! Your resort reservations are linked to your MagicBands through your My Disney Experience account, and, during Extra Magic Hours, you must scan your MagicBand to enter the park early. Or, during evening Extra Magic Hours, you must scan your MagicBand at any rides or attractions.
Magic Kingdom Fireworks are at 9pm on most nights. If there is a special event like Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party the fireworks may be earlier, or may not be scheduled for regular guests visiting that day.
Disney will typically hold your dining reservation up to 15 minutes after your scheduled dining time.
Once you purchase your admission, you can make your theme park reservation(s). Annual Passholders may visit the theme parks after 2:00 PM without a theme park reservation, except on Saturdays and Sundays at Magic Kingdom park. Applicable pass blockout dates apply.
Arriving at the Magic Kingdom 30–60 minutes before official opening ensures the shortest possible waits for rides. Off-site guests, who aren't eligible for Early Theme Park Entry, should arrive 30 minutes before official opening on all days.
Yes! Magic Kingdom, EPCOT and Disney's Hollywood Studios theme parks have evening firework displays every night.
If you only have a few days to visit Disney World, you may be wondering which park you should skip. The answer is Epcot. I know, I know, Epcot is a beloved park but trust me, I have some really good reasons as to why it's the Disney park to skip when you simply don't have enough time to visit each one.
Considering we got on all the most popular rides at EPCOT, I would say that YES Extended Evening Hours are worth it. Far more of a perk than Early Morning Entry since you get more time plus at the end of the day more people are likely to clear out of the parks- even those that also share the perk!
Disney Genie+ at Walt Disney World
Disney Genie+ costs $15 to $29 per person, per day at Walt Disney World and guests have access to over 40 rides to choose from. If you have a Park Hopper ticket, you will still be able to select rides and access Lightning Lanes across parks.
Valid theme park admission and MagicBand, Key to the World Card or Disney MagicMobile pass is required. Guests without the Park Hopper Option or Park Hopper Plus Option must spend the day at the same park where they'd like to enjoy the early theme park entry benefit.
