Avoid exercise, hot bath/shower, sauna, steam, hot tub, pools and beaches 24 hours after waxing. Sweating can carry bacteria into the pores and can irritate the skin after waxing. Keep hands from touching freshly waxed skin, minimizing chances of getting irritations or small pimples.
There's nothing like a bath when you need to relax (goodbye muscle tension), but it's best to steer clear for 24 hours after your wax appointment. The heat will aggravate any post-wax irritation and redness, it will dry out your skin and open up your pores (a shortcut to ingrown hairs).
If you're going to bathe after waxing, try to at least avoid doing so no sooner than 2 hours after hair removal, and give your skin a chance to breathe! You should also never take a bath just after getting freshly waxed. Instead, take a lukewarm shower and use a non-scented cleanser or body wash to clean with.
For at least 24 hours, you'll want to avoid saunas, tanning beds, and even the gym. Wait for Sex: Give yourself about 2 days, or 24-48 hours, to recover from the wax before engaging in any sexual activity. Keep it Loose: Avoid tight and constricting clothing for a few days after your wax.
Avoid the following for 24 hours after your wax: Swimming and exercise. For Brazilian Wax, no sex, especially oral sex for 24 hours.
So you'll want to avoid anything that can irritate the skin for at least 24-48 hours after your wax. That includes wearing loose clothing, using fragrance-free products, and no rough sex, or sweaty workouts.
To prevent bumps and ingrowns, try applying a cold pack to the waxed area immediately following your service, which will close the pores and block bacteria from entering.
You'll need to keep your legs clean and dry for the first 48 hours after waxing, and also avoid anything that could irritate your delicate skin. The list includes exfoliating, strong sunlight, saunas, synthetic clothes, and steamy, hot baths (another reason to make the most of your pre-wax one).
DO moisturize after waxing. Using gentle oil-based products, such as baby oil, can help to remove any wax residue while keeping the skin supple. If you prefer using a lotion-based after-wax care, try our 'Rub Me Down' lavender and chamomile moisturizer.

She recommends a 20-minute shower after a wax treatment, and while you're in the shower, use an in-shower oil. "Immediately follow with lotion," she says, "Applying oil and lotion on wet skin will allow the product to lock moisture in by trapping some of the water on the skin."
How long will my skin take to recover from a Brazilian bikini wax? It can take up to 1-2 days after your waxing appointment to recover. Initially, you may experience inflammation and redness in the area. Some, but not all, clients will experience red bumps (which will go away in a day or two).
NO hot shower or bath for at least 12 hours.
Directly after waxing your hair follicle is left open. This makes it susceptible hot water entering the open hair follicle during a shower or bath. This will irritate the area and create discomfort. Once your follicles close you can return to your normal bathing routine.
Sex after bikini waxing? Our advice is to wait 24 to 48 hours so your skin has time to heal and hair follicles can close. Doing so will prevent any further skin irritation.
First of all, people can shave the hairs they've missed during waxing, and it won't harm the skin in any way if the client doesn't suffer from any sensitivity problems.
It's perfectly fine to take a cool or warm shower after your wax, however, I recommend waiting at least 5-8 hours for the skin to recover. Avoid hot showers or steam rooms after your wax. Hair follicles remain open for hours after waxing, so it's best to avoid contact with any excess moisture for at least 24 hours.
Dry, brittle hair could possibly have broken during your wax. Reduce this from happening by exfoliating (a couple to few times a week) and moisturizing (daily) between wax appointments.
Waxing slows down and reduces hair growth. Hair also grows much thinner thus making it easier to remove and less painful when waxed. Shaving just one time in between will negate all that is gained from waxing and can further irritate follicles which can cause ingrown hair. So, no, we don't advise shaving in between.
What all of this means is that an average Brazilian wax will only remove about 30% of hair by the root while it is in the Anagen phase. The majority of your hair is in the Telogen phase, so you are only removing the old, dead hair. This means that you can expect to see noticeable hair regrowth within 2 to 3 weeks.
Pubic hair needs to be at least the length of a grain of rice or ¼ of an inch long. Many people feel self-conscious about hair being too long before their Brazilian wax, but longer hair is grabbed by wax better. If you trim beforehand, you could cut it too short and forfeit the ability to wax.
"Waxing opens your pores and makes the area more sensitive than usual," says Faris. Wearing too-tight pants afterward can cause a rash, so dress in your baggiest pants and go commando if you feel comfortable doing so.
DON'TS: THE FIRST 24 HOURS AFTER YOUR WAX:
Avoid direct sunlight or sunbathing (or artificial tanning). Avoid saunas or steam baths. Don't swim. Don't wear tight or non-breathing clothes to avoid infection: waxed skin needs air.
And exercising in the hours following your appointment can cause sweat to “transfer bacteria from the skin into these lesions. Once that happens, you're at risk of developing pimples and folliculitis, in which the hair follicles become infected,” Equinox explains.
