Dismissive avoidants do not often reach out first after deactivation because of the low priority they place on being in a relationship, but begin responding 5-7 days of deactivation. But sometimes a deactivation can take a few months if the deactivation is deep.
A fearful avoidant leaning anxious will probably need more check-ins. If your fearful avoidant ex doesn't respond to a check-in, respect that they need a few days of space and reach out again 5 – 7 days later. The maximum times to reach out with no response is 3 over several weeks.
So a lot of the times you'll see them recover within the next three to five days so leaving them alone is really a great way to deal with the situation. Of course, it's always easier said than done especially when many of our clients have anxious attachment styles.
Around almost a two month mark is when the dismissive avoidant is going to really start to feel things. They are going to start feeling the breakup. I've coached clients and they told me that that's the time where they start to get emotional and they start to regret the breakup.
If your dismissive avoidant ex regularly pulls away for a few days at a time, wait for them to reach out or respond. If it's more than 5 – 7 days since you last heard from them, send a check-in text.
If an avoidant starts pulling away, let them know that you care but do not chase them. It may be very painful to do this, but pursuing them is likely to make it take longer for them to come back. They need breathing space, to feel safe with their own thoughts and unengulfed.
They're always looking for the red flags, and they will find them, so when you go no contact with the dismissive avoidant, don't expect them to reach out to you.
Allow them space to move at their own pace. Your willingness to be patient and without demand in the short term will render success in the long term. they will allow you to be around them, but not close to them; at least not until they feel safe enough to let you in.

Dismissive avoidants don't like instant back-and-forth texting unless it's urgent or they're really interested. Their typical response is to take their time when texting back. To them, it doesn't matter when you text back as long as you do text back.
A fearful avoidant during no contact acts slightly differently from other attachment styles. Going no contact with them can become extremely distracting and often requires a lot of discipline. The fearful-avoidant does not express remorse or sadness over heartbreak in the initial weeks of the breakup.
