Rhaenyra and Daemon's sons Aegon, Viserys, and Visenya Targaryen. Sorry for the spoiler, but we did watch Daemon and Rhaenyra get married in last week's episode, so you probably knew this was coming! We haven't seen them yet in the show, but Daemon and Rhaenyra have three sons together.
Aegon III, aka Aegon the Younger: Rhaenyra and Daemon's first child together.
Daemon and Rhaenyra share two children together: Aegon III and Viserys II.
Laenor and Rhaenyra had three sons together: Princes Jacaerys 'Jace', Lucerys 'Luke', and Joffrey 'Joff' Velaryon.
The sixth episode of HBO's House of the Dragon raises suspicions about the bloodline of Princess Rhaenyra's three sons—Jacaerys, Lucerys, and Joffrey.
Like Laenor Velaryon's sexuality, it was a “known secret” in the Red Keep that Harwin Strong was the father to Rhaenyra's three children: Jacaerys, Lucerys, and Joffrey.
Across the course of the first season, Rhaenyra gave birth to six children. All of her children were boys except the last pregnancy -- which ended in heart-rending tragedy.
Rhaenyra and Daemon now have two children—sons Aegon and Viserys—with a third on the way. Aegon the Elder is now married to Helaena, and it's mentioned that they have children.
In 117 AC, Rhaenyra gave birth to her third son, whom Laenor named Joffrey, in honor of Ser Joffrey Lonmouth.
Lady Laena (Nanna Blondell) struggled for days with her labor, and with no hope for her or her baby, she made her way to her dragon Vhagar and commanded him to burn her alive. Though Rhaenyra has had five successful labors, she now suffers greatly and does so alone throughout her sixth.
Prosthetic designer confirms: the baby was deformed
“When the babe at last came forth, she proved indeed a monster: a stillborn girl, twisted and malformed, with a hole in her chest where her heart should have been and a stubby, scaled tail. The dead girl had been named Visenya.
Visenya Targaryen
Princess Rhaenyra and Prince Daemon's only daughter was stillborn. House of the Dragon depicted this moment in the season 1 finale, adding to the heartbreak of Rhaenyra.
With him, she found a love so deep it filled the void in her heart, not to mention her womb. In 196 AC, the year of their marriage, she painstakingly produced a set of twins, Aegon and Aella.
Fatally attacked, Arrax fell into the sea, with Luce meeting the same fate. Their bodies were only found three days later, serving as a feast for crabs and seabirds. It is the news of her son's death that determines the desire for revenge and extermination of the Hightowers for Rhaenyra.
Her next child whom she's now pregnant with, however, will be a different story. In House of the Dragon episode 8, Rhaenyra Targaryen is pregnant with her daughter Visenya. Despite Rhaenyra and Daemon's excitement over having another child, their daughter will tragically never take a breath of air.
It isn't explicitly stated in the show, but because we learn after episode six that all three boys have dark brown hair — and despite Rhaenyra and Laenor's matching blond color — it has been strongly implied that they are actually the children of Ser Harwin Strong, the Lord Commander of the City Watch.
Rhaenyra has had a tough couple weeks. First, she finds out that her half-brother Aegon II has usurped the throne and that she will have to fight for her claim as queen. Then, she gives birth to a stillborn child. And finally she loses her second eldest son Lucerys to a dragon battle.
Rhaenyra has been pregnant with her daughter Visenya since House of the Dragon's latest and last time jump, and it is heartbreaking to see her deal with this loss. The way in which the scene plays out makes it especially disturbing. RELATED: House of the Dragon: Which Dragon is Daemon Singing To?
“She was my only daughter, and they killed her. They stole my crown and murdered my daughter, and they shall answer for it,” she said. The deaths of Visenya and her beloved son Lucerys would ultimately signal the beginning of the Dance of the Dragons.
The episode doesn't really beat around the bush when revealing that Harwin Strong (Ryan Corr) is the father of Rhaenyra's children. He's there soon after baby Joffrey is born so he can meet him, and later on in the episode Jacaerys (Leo Hart) even asks his mom if Harwin is his real dad.
Rhaenyra's sixth child, Visenya, is born with unusual birth defects that could have broad (and weird) implications. “When the babe at last came forth, she proved indeed a monster,” George R.R. Martin writes in Fire & Blood, the source material for HBO's House of the Dragon.
In George R.R. Martin's fictitious history of the Targaryen family, we learn that Rhaenyra does eventually have children with her uncle Daemon: two boys named Viserys II and Aegon III, both of whom eventually become king.
In the book, Visenya was described as being born with dragon-like defects, including scales, a tail, and a twisted body. Rhaenyra's baby did end up having scale-like defects and a malformed body in House of the Dragon, which aligns with the occasional reports of Targaryen women bearing dragon-like stillborn children.
