I don't want things to change." Shmi Skywalker Lars was a human female who lived in slavery on the planet Tatooine during the last years of the Galactic Republic. During her time as a slave, Shmi gave birth to a son whom she named Anakin Skywalker.
Born on an unknown world, Shmi was sold into slavery at an early age. In 41 BBY, she gave birth to a son she named Anakin, who also served as a slave. She cared for her son greatly, and was willing to do anything to help him.
A slave on Tatooine, Shmi Skywalker raised her son Anakin in Mos Espa. The Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn discovered that Anakin was strong with the Force and helped the boy win his freedom, then took him to Coruscant to be trained as a Jedi.
Luke, meanwhile, married a woman named Mara Jade, an assassin who previously served Emperor Palpatine. The couple had one son, a Jedi named Ben Skywalker, whose descendants would go own to have Jedi adventures in their own times.
She was also the grandmother of Luke Skywalker and Leia Organa Solo, great-grandmother of Ben Skywalker, Jacen Solo, Jaina Solo, and Anakin Solo, and a direct ancestor of Cade Skywalker and Ania Solo.
She was recovered from the Tusken Raider camp by her son, Padawan Anakin Skywalker, who returned her body to the Lars farm after slaughtering the Tuskens within the camp. Shmi was buried at the farm with a gravestone marking her grave. After her husband Cliegg Lars died, he was buried next to her.
Han Solo marries Princess Leia and they have three children: twins named Jacen and Jaina, and a younger son named Anakin. Luke reestablishes the Jedi Order, marries a non-movie (but fan favorite) redheaded Force-wielder named Mara Jade, and they have a son, Ben Skywalker (named in honor of Obi-Wan “Ben” Kenobi).
She does not have a baby bump, her hand never goes to her stomach to indicate she's carrying a child, and there wasn't exactly any time for her to have conceived a child with anyone in the course of the film, including Kylo Ren/Ben Solo.
In the prequel films, Owen is the son of Cliegg Lars and stepbrother of Anakin Skywalker. He and his wife Beru take custody of Luke at the end of Revenge of the Sith.
Darth Vader never knew he had twins until that final battle on the second Death Star. The force ghost of Obi Wan had warned Luke to bury his understanding of Leia deep or Vader would be able to sense his feelings.
In The Phantom Menace, when Qui-Gon Jinn meets tiny Anakin Skywalker and his mother, he goes on about how the Force is like, crazy strong with Anakin or whatever, and then asks his mother about Anakin's dad. Shmi Skywalker is pretty clear in her answer: There isn't a father. She was impregnated by the Force.
Padmé was born in the year 46 BBY on Naboo, and Anakin was born five years later, in the year 41 BBY. That makes Padmé five years older than Anakin.
While Palpatine probably wasn't directly responsible for Shmi's death, those Force dreams may well be his influence. Darth Sidious is an opportunist; the Clone Army was created by Sifo-Dyas as a weapon against the Sith, but became key to his plans.
Following the Wampa attack during the movie's opening scenes on Hoth; Leia, Han, and Chewie visit Luke in the infirmary. Leia is annoyed with Han, who insists she has feelings for him, so she kisses Luke to prove she doesn't. Presumably, the scene was simply meant to make Han jealous.
Rey = Shmi, Explained
When he discovered Rey, he popped out of a time vortex right around Rise of Skywalker and dragged her back into the past 75 years earlier (aka, right around the time Anakin was born). At this point, Rey somehow escapes and “cuts herself off from the Force” like Luke did back on Ahch-To.
This is not because the Third Sister knows that Leia is Anakin Skywalker's child; it is because the Third Sister found a link between Obi-Wan and Bail Organa and she believed Obi-Wan would do anything to save Bail's daughter.
Owen Lars was the son of moisture farmer Cliegg Lars and the stepbrother of Anakin Skywalker. He married Beru Whitesun, and after his father's death, inherited his moisture farm.
In the original Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi screenplay, Obi-Wan did have a brother, and it was none other than Owen Lars (Joel Edgerton)—Luke Skywalker's step-uncle and Anakin's step-brother.
During the iconic opening moments of Star Wars: A New Hope, Darth Vader has a tense confrontation with Princess Leia, an adversary who, unknown to him, is actually his daughter. Despite participating in Leia's interrogation, the Sith Lord doesn't uncover his familial connection with the rebellious royal.
HUGE STAR WARS REVEAL! Rey RETURNS and is PREGNANT with Force Ghost Kylo Ren's Baby!?! Disney's biggest reveal at SW celebration: Force Ghost Kylo Ren knocked up Rey.
So let's look a bit closer at the legacy you're attaching your kid to when you name them Kylo: Our boy Kylo was born as one Ben Solo, the child of Han Solo and Leia Organa, named after the famous Jedi Obi-Wan (aka: Ben) Kenobi. Ben was trained in the ways of the Jedi by his uncle, Luke Skywalker.
In a new excerpt, it's revealed that the names of Rey's parents are Dathan and Miramir. Dathan is the dad and Miramir the mother, if you were wondering; it's not always clear with these names from a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away.
Despite being enemies, Rey and Kylo Ren share a connection called a 'Force dyad' and eventually become romantically involved with one another. Following Palpatine's final defeat and her own resurrection, Rey adopts the name Rey Skywalker to honor her mentors and their family legacy and renounce her lineage.
The son of Han Solo and Leia Organa, Ben Solo was seduced by the dark side of the Force and renamed himself Kylo Ren: leader of the Knights of Ren, champion of the First Order, and apprentice to Supreme Leader Snoke.
Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) was introduced as a knock-off Darth Vader in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, with good reason—he's Anakin's grandson. Similar to his grandfather, Ben Solo was once seduced by the dark side and goes on to wreak havoc in the galaxy.
