As a result, Marsali takes on much of the physical labor of tending the whisky still and minding the animals, as well as caring for her four young children, cooking, and cleaning, while Fergus seeks out odd jobs that take him away from home for extended periods, like acting as messenger or translator.
A Breath of Snow and Ashes

Fergus is 17 years older than Ian and 15 years older than Marsali.
In July 1767, Fergus leaves North Carolina to fetch Marsali and their first-born child Germain from Jamaica. They come to Fraser's Ridge in the summer of 1768. In September 1770, Marsali gives birth to their second child, a daughter named Joan.
Marsali would have been left a widow with four children, and everyone would have been devastated. Fortunately, that's not how it all played out. And we got to hear that Fergus and Marsali were heading to New Bern where Fergus could open up his own print shop.
She went into intense labour during dinner, with Claire Fraser (Caitriona Balfe) and Malva Christie (Jessica Reynolds) by her side, Marsali gave birth to a son. Despite the happiness in the room, Fergus was instantly devastated after spotting their baby was born with dwarfism.

We learn that Fergus (Romann Berrux) is not getting drunk and beating Marsali. Hooray! Unfortunately, Marsali is the one getting angry at Fergus.
In the novels, Marsali and Fergus apparently know. They haven't been told on-page, but Diana Gabaldon confirms that the two know that Claire, Bree, and Roger are time travelers.
It's one of the Outlander theories, based on the idea that Fergus could be one of Claire's ancestors. This is all linked to the theory that Fergus is the son of Comte St. Germain.
He also gave Marsali the support she needed to believe that she would make it through another pregnancy. Despite everything he is currently going through, he was there when she needed him the most. Marsali did survive childbirth. The baby also survived.

She is a bit older. The book version of Marsali is only 15 when she boards the Artemis with Fergus (age 30) in Voyager. For modern sensibilities, they aged Marsali to 18 on the show.
Germain (Stanley Weber) is revealed to be Fergus' father.
The big question for Marsali, Fergus, and others is why Henri-Christian is a dwarf. Is it something that Marsali did or something that happened to her? The truth we know now is that it's simply genetics.

He can't believe his eyes.
Jamie Fraser's older sister Jenny Murray will be returning this season, but actress Laura Donnelly will not. Donnelly played Jenny in seasons 1 through 3, while Kristin Atherton will be taking over the role in season 7, TVLine confirms.
