Whether its green, red, blue, gold, silver, orange, pink, or even periwinkle… each of these rocks has a different effect on Superman and other
There was Red Kryptonite, which caused aggressive and odd behavior, White Kryptonite that killed plants, Blue Kryptonite which affected Bizarro Kryptonians, Red-Gold to remove memories, Black which split people into good and evil selves, Jewel, Magno, Anti, X…you name it.
Gold Kryptonite might be the rarest type of the stone in existence. It first appeared in Adventure Comics #299 in August 1962, although it was an imaginary tale revolving around Superboy.
1 1.
The Gold Kryptonite is such an example of that; it's not just Superman's weakness but also the comic books franchise's. After exposure, the golden Kryptonian rock removes Superman's powers... permanently (or irreversibly, even). So, DC swept the Gold Kryptonite under a rug and didn't use it much.
In its best-known form, it is a green, crystalline material originating from Superman's home world of Krypton that emits a unique, poisonous radiation that can weaken and even kill Kryptonians.
Black Kryptonite. Black Kryptonite is a form of refined Kryptonite that can separate the personalities of a single being into two separate beings. This Kryptonite is created by heating Green Kryptonite to extremely high temperatures.
A variant of Kryptonite of unknown origin, Batman seemingly possesses what is known as Platinum Kryptonite. Its known abilities are to bestow the abilities of Kryptonians to non-Kryptonians, allowing its users to be able to absorb solar energy in the same way a Kryptonian could.
White Kryptonite kills any and all plant life that it comes into contact with. If Poison Ivy knew that you were carrying White Kryptonite, she would do all in her power to bring you to your untimely, plant-killing end. So we recommend not juggling the White Kryptonite any time soon!
On the TV series, Supergirl, the Black Kryptonite, also known as Harun-El, is a mineral with a mutagenic effect and seemingly magical powers, originating from the planet Krypton. It can be used as a source of energy.
Gold kryptonite. Gold Kryptonite is a rare form of Kryptonite that can negate a Kryptonian's healing factor under a yellow sun, and can potentially remove their powers forever.
Injustice. Batman had Firestorm transmute a knife made of gold kryptonite for him which he used to cut Superman across the chest. He threatened to remove his powers permanently after the defeat of Brainiac.
Orange Kryptonite, is a different variant of kryptonite. It doesn't affect kryptonians like Red and Green Kryptonite, only animals. A piece of orange kryptonite was found and made into a necklace. It was stolen by Isis and Snooky Wookums, and used to give them superpowers.
Pink Kryptonite is a fictional element that was first introduced in the world of comics as a way to subvert the traditional power dynamics of the Superman universe. Unlike traditional Kryptonite, which weakens and harms Kryptonians, Pink Kryptonite has the power to alter their sexual orientation and turn them gay.
Purple Kryptonite was a type of Kryptonite that was purple in color. Its' effects on Superman or other Kryptonians was never revealed, but it's presumably the same as Green Kryptonite.
Adventure Comics #279
(December, 1960) After Superboy was once thrown into the 50th Century, he used White Kryptonite to destroy rapidly growing alien vegetation that spread from a crashed alien ship. White Kryptonite was a variant of Kryptonite. It is lethal to all plant life, regardless of origin.
Pink Kryptonite is a type of Kryptonite that first appeared in Supergirl Vol. 4 #79 in 2003 and never returned to comics again. It was an odd introduction to the Kryptonite rainbow that still raises readers' eyebrows today, despite it being almost 20 years since it happened.
Purple Kryptonite
The effect of this kryptonite is hypnotic, and it can control the minds of anyone nearby, and Lena Luthor used it to create purple Kryptomites.
Orange kryptonite provides super-abilities to any animal that comes into contact with it for 24 hours, after which the power fade. In the story titled “The Purr-fect crime,” Isis and Snooky Wookums have stolen orange kryptonite, giving them temporary super powers.
Blue Kryptonite strips super-powered Kryptonians of all their abilities, making them mortal and, thus, susceptible to damage and pain as with any human. It is possible that the substance does this by turning off the manifestation of genes that allow Kryptonians to process sunlight while in contact with it.
Blue Kryptonite was created using the Duplicator Ray on a piece of Green Kryptonite which Superman used to halt an army of advancing Bizarros. Blue kryptonite only affected Bizarros and was harmless to humans and Kryptonians. Blue Kryptonite was a variant of Kryptonite with varying properties.
Platinum Kryptonite was a variant of Kryptonite which had the effect of permanently bestowing the full range of Kryptonian super-powers to non-powered humanoids.
So, what does Blue Kryptonite do to Superman? Blue Kryptonite originally had no effects on Superman and other Kryptonians but had the same crippling effect on Bizarro (Superman's odd, opposite double) as Green Kryptonite does on Supes. Some versions of Blue Kryptonite stripped Superman of his powers.
The term silver refers to a precious metal commonly used in the production of jewelry, coins, electronics, and photography. It has the highest electrical conductivity of any metal and is, therefore, a highly valuable substance.
So, what does Silver Kryptonite do to Superman? Silver Kryptonite is an artificial type of Kryptonite that causes many effects on Kryptonians, but mostly paranoia, hallucinations, anxiety, and extreme hunger. It doesn't take away Superman's powers but clearly slows down his healing speed.
Pink Kryptonite does indeed exist in the DC Universe. However, whether it is considered “canon” is a topic of hot debate. This is because the substance doesn't feature in the “prime” Superman timeline. But any true DC or Marvel fan knows that comic book reality is malleable.
