Both the Fifth Brother and Seventh Sister were killed by Maul on Malachor while the Eighth Brother fell to his death from atop of the Malachor Sith Temple. The Sixth Brother perished over a decade previously as a result of a confrontation with Ahsoka Tano.
After the death of the Grand Inquisitor, he was deployed to pursue the Spectres, but clashed with Seventh Sister. Fifth Brother ultimately perished at the hands of the former Sith Lord Maul on Malachor.
Nimble and menacing, the Eighth Brother was a deadly Terrelian Jango Jumper Inquisitor. Dispatched by Darth Vader, he was sent to Malachor to attempt to find and capture Maul, and instead found himself face to face with Ezra Bridger, Kanan Jarrus, and Ahsoka Tano.
Darth Maul is a Zabrak from Dathomir who is abducted by Sidious as a child and trained in the ways of the dark side of the Force. He kills Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn during the Battle of Naboo before being bisected by Qui-Gon's apprentice, Obi-Wan.
Driven by revenge against the Sith and consumed by a personal obsession to turn Ezra Bridger to the dark side, Darth Maul faces off against the Seventh Sister Inquisitor, a cunning mastermind who uses a group of mimic droids to track down the Rebels and capture the Jedi.
1. The Grand Inquisitor. The Grand Inquisitor was a male Pau'an and former guard of the Jedi temple who held the highest rank amongst the Inquisitor Order, and as such reported directly to Darth Vader.
By his singular hatred for Kenobi, Maul survived though at the cost of his sanity (which was later restored by Mother Talzin) and he surfaced many years later to exact revenge on Kenobi.
Unfortunately for this wise Jedi master, Qui-Gon was unable to defeat Darth Maul, costing him his life in Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace. Qui-Gon was a Jedi who practiced instinct over strategy, and because of this, he failed. Maul was too quick for him.
Quite simply, Qui-Gon did not have much training when it came to trying to combat Sith Lords, and at the time, it would have been irresponsible for the Jedi Counsel to spend any additional time concerning a threat that was considered long extinct, especially when you add to the fact that they believed they would be ...
Darth Maul Almost Killed Anakin In The Phantom Menace
Maul could have run over Anakin with his speeder or even hit the Chosen One with a lightsaber, something that was only avoided because Qui-Gon warned Anakin to get down. That said, Darth Maul was probably not aware of how important the boy was.
Maul and Grievous met in single combat, while the two armies collided and suffered heavy losses. By the battle's end, Maul ordered his forces to retreat, while the Sith waited for him to find Mother Talzin.
Darth Maul and Obi-Wan's long-standing rivalry started in Episode 1 and lasted all the way until Star Wars: Rebels. Throughout his lifetime, Maul seemed to hate Kenobi! Every time Maul says Kenobi.
No, but he meets him in the Son of Dathomir comic.
Torquemada, Tomás de (1420–98) Spanish cleric and grand inquisitor. A Dominican priest and confessor to King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella I, who appointed him head of the Spanish Inquisition in 1483, Torquemada was noted for the severity of his judgments and punishments. He was responsible for c. 2000 burnings.
Darth Maul lives! Well, sort of. After Obi-Wan Kenobi famously cut the horned Sith Lord in half in The Phantom Menace, Maul resurfaced in The Clone Wars, became a crime lord by the time of Solo, and eventually was murdered by Obi-Wan (again!) in Rebels.
"Is it the Chosen One?" Maul asked. "He is," Kenobi replied. Maul looked up, the life fading from his eyes, and uttered his last words. "He will avenge us."
When Qui-Gon Jinn showed up on Naboo and threatened to throw a bantha-sized wrench into his plot, Palpatine had to act fast. He dispatched Darth Maul to get rid of the Jedi Master once and for all. Therefore, just like Yoda said, Palpatine's fear led to evil deeds, death and the rise of the dark side.
Qui-Gon Jinn was probably the greatest Jedi threat to Palpatine's plans - but it was the will of the Force that he be removed from the picture. Had Qui-Gon Jinn survived Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace, he would have become the Emperor's greatest threat.
Padawan Windu was trained in the ways of the Force by Jedi Master Cyslin Myr.
His use of vapad would make the fight play out similair to windu vs palpatine. He would use the seething rage pouring out of maul against him, and as mauls force power was so much weaker than windu's it would be an undisputed win for windu.
Darth Vader defeats Darth Maul. The two Sith Lords engaged in a lightsaber duel, going through the volcano and onto a bridge situated over a river of lava, which collapsed, though they both survived and continued their battle.
Would he? No, Palpatine is still superior enough that the outcome is practically clear to be his to win. Palpatine was skilled enough to be an even match for Vaapad Mace and held his own against Yoda for an extended period of time. Maul might reach Dooku by Season 7.
In fact, in this same scene, Sidious says he is keeping Maul alive because he has "other uses for you!" If Palpatine thought Maul knew he about his double identity, there's no way he would have let him stay alive.
Maul once tried to turn Ahsoka to the Dark Side, but failed. Maul calls her "Lady Tano" to mock her.
Darth Maul feared Vader in the same way as anyone would. Vader was the most notorious and ruthless figure in the Empire, using his rage and anguish to fuel his resolve, enabling him to dispatch his enemies without compassion or remorse.
