There is no limit to the number of teeth you can have extracted at once. While having multiple teeth extracted during the same procedure is rare, it is sometimes the only option for patients with severe tooth decay.
There is no limit to the number of teeth that can be taken at once from one's mouth by a dentist near you. Even though it is unusual, patients with severe tooth decay may have no choice but to have multiple teeth pulled all at once during the same surgical process.
You can live without one or two teeth without major consequences, but losing several teeth at once requires the jawbone to be reshaped to prepare for a dental bridge or dentures. There is no clear rule on the number of teeth that can safely be extracted in one sitting.
What is the most difficult tooth to extract? Impacted wisdom teeth are wisdom teeth that have failed to erupt properly. They are generally considered to be the most difficult teeth to extract. The higher the degree of impaction, the more difficult the extraction.
If you're just having one tooth extracted, the entire process can be completed in 20-40 minutes. However, if you're having multiple teeth extracted, expect to spend a little more time in our office. Each additional tooth will take another 3-15 minutes of appointment time, depending on its location.

Extracting or removing a tooth that has died is a relatively simple relatively painless form of treatment. You should expect to receive either local or general anesthesia for the procedure, depending on your preference or the recommendation of your dentist.

Examples of complicated tooth extraction cases include entangled roots, impacted teeth, very large sinuses and mouth infections. If one of the teeth that need to be pulled is already fractured, it is likely that it will fracture even more while being pulled, requiring the skills of a trained oral surgeon.
Most dentists can remove teeth that are broken to the gum line. In these cases, certain instruments such as forceps and elevators will be used to remove what is left of the damaged tooth. In some situations, your dentist will need to reflect your gum tissue to gain access to the tooth.
Tooth infections are severe and generally need people to be treated with antibiotics before proceeding with the removal. In such cases, dentists prefer performing endodontic therapy to preserve the tooth. However, if the tooth's internal structure is affected, the only alternative available is to extract the tooth.
Root canals can be a painful procedure. In fact, many find it to be more painful than an extraction, but the use of local anesthesia can reduce the pain. The procedure starts by first examining the patient's mouth with X-rays. These help to determine the severity of the infection and the number of teeth infected.
Pain. It is normal for pain to get worse over the next couple of days. Most discomfort is seen on day 2 and 3. Once you get home and the bleeding has stopped, you should eat (soft foods, pudding, etc.).
The multiple tooth extraction recovery time remains the same for a single tooth or multiple teeth. You can expect to return to normal activities in 7- 10 days. If you need surgery for impacted wisdom teeth, the recovery time may exceed this by a few days.
Pain After Tooth Extraction
If you can take ibuprofen (Motrin® or Advil®), take 400–600 mg every 6–8 hours or as prescribed by your doctor. Ibuprofen will help with pain relief and as an anti-inflammatory. If you cannot take ibuprofen, then 1–2 tablets of regular Tylenol® should be taken every 4 hours.
Post-surgery bleeding should only last a few minutes. While gauze is necessary, you don't want to sleep with it.
