On average, patients require between 2 – 4 threads on each side of the face for a mid-face thread lift. An additional 2 – 4 threads may be needed for the lower face and/or neck.
A PDO thread lift is customized to your unique skin type, skin texture and aesthetic goals. Depending on the area you want treated, you may receive three or four carefully placed barbed threads. Different threads are used for varying degrees of lift, skin tightening and cellular rejuvenation.
Smooth threads
Smooth PDO threads are commonly placed in a cross-hatched pattern of 5 threads perpendicular to 5 other threads to cover a small area of the face on each side. So, typically you would need 10 per side or more for a procedure to treat an area, for example.
The degree of strength in the skin (older skin needs more rejuvenation and therefor more threads, than younger skin) The area that needs treating (jowls may need repositioning and require 6-8 cog threads per side).
An average of 10 threads per area (cheek or jawline, for example) are used.
PDO threads are designed to provide lift and support to the skin and underlying tissues, but they should not significantly change the shape or appearance of your smile.
Thread lifting is minimally invasive procedure to lift and tighten sagging skin on the face, neck and body. For the neck, common concerns are sagging skin causing a 'turkey neck' appearance, as well as fullness or sagging under the chin, also referred to as a 'double chin'.
Both may be used to stimulate the production of collagen. So, when looking at the areas you want to address, you may discover one option is the obvious choice. If you want plumper lips, you'll go with a filler. If you want to tighten sagging cheeks or skin under your chin, you'll go with threads.
The thread lift procedure is better suited to younger women in their late 30s or early 40s, with minimal jowl formation. When performed correctly and in the right candidate, the treatment gives a natural, soft but noticeable lift, smoothing out deeper-set lines and folds and giving the face back its former structure.
PCA lifts are the newest and the longest-lasting treatment.
Arte Lifting Threads
They provide more support to the skin than smooth threads and are often used in areas that are prone to sagging, such as the jowls or neck. Arte threads also offer a greater degree of lift than smooth threads and are used to lift heavier tissue.
PDO threads are inserted into the skin using a small needle, while thread lifts typically involve the use of special threads that are anchored to the skin's underlying tissues.
PDO thread lifts are a minimally invasive and effective treatment for your skin problems. They aren't normally felt or seen underneath the skin. However, in some rare cases of people with thin skin, they can feel them when they press on these areas.
The prevailing consensus is that having more physical cores is preferable to having more threads. In comparison, a CPU with 8 cores and 8 threads would perform better than one with 2 cores and 8 threads. However, the more threads our CPU can manage, the better it will perform while multitasking.
The price for a thread lift treatment can range from $750-4,500. The price will vary depending on what area of the face you want to target. Disadvantages of a thread lift when compared to a surgical facelift: The results from a facelift last much longer than a thread lift. Depending on your age and goals, a thread lift may not be adequate. A facelift may have more impact on older patients or those who may want more dramatic correction.
A thread lift is a nonsurgical cosmetic procedure that lifts and tightens your skin for a younger look. A thread lift also stimulates your body's collagen production. Collagen creates firmer, more supple skin and naturally diminishes with age.
Kim Kardashian
The socialite admits that she often uses thread lifts and is one of the first to come forward and accept them. According to her, she considers them to be her secret for young and healthy skin. She uses them along with her traditional filler and injection treatments.
On average, patients require between 2 – 4 threads on each side of the face for a mid-face thread lift. An additional 2 – 4 threads may be needed for the lower face and/or neck.
Most candidates suitable for a Mini Thread Lift are between 30 and 70 years old. However, the procedure can effectively enhance the appearance of people over 70, and some individuals opt for the procedure in their 20s and 30s, often as a means of correcting hereditary conditions or re-contouring of facial structure.
Con: Thread lifts are costly to repeat
Although a thread lift may be less expensive than a facelift, the cost adds up when you have to get a refresh every few years. “When fracturing outcomes, cost and downtime, I still believe patients are better off with traditional surgical procedures,” says Dr. Kwak.
Unfortunately, as the ageing process continues, most people will require repeat thread lifting. We recommend repeating the procedure after 9 -12 months after the first two sessions for a long lasting result of up to 3 years.
