Cantons generally have fixed amounts for welfare benefits. For recognized refugees, these amounts are based on the guidelines set out by the Swiss conference for social services. In many cantons, the fixed benefit is 400 francs per month. The size of welfare benefits typically varies between residence permits.

Government has announced today that the £350 'thank you' payments, will be extended from 12 months to a maximum duration of two years. The UK government will also increase the minimum 'thank you' payments for hosts from £350 per month to £500 per month, once a guest has been here in the UK for 12 months.
Refugees - major hosting countries worldwide as of 2022
In mid-2022, Turkey was the largest refugee-hosting country in the world. According to data available by the The UN Refugee Agency there were around 3.7 million refugees in Turkey. Germany was second with around 2.2 million.
UK residents can register as named sponsors for Ukrainian refugees wishing to come to the UK. Sponsors undertake to provide free accommodation to a Ukrainian individual or a family for a period of at least six months. Sponsors receive a monthly payment of £350 from the government.
But do people seeking asylum get this free housing forever? No. When someone gets refugee status, they can no longer stay in asylum accommodation. They can choose where to live, but they have to pay for their rent or ask for government help – like any UK citizen.
Refugees on benefits who have passed Danish education 2 (which typically takes more than 2 years) can get a bonus of 1,620 kr per month for up to 6 months. Refugees who pass the language exam but do not receive benefits are eligible for a one-time bonus of 6,572 kr, tax free.
