While pricing is always subject to change, currently you can expect a domestic or imported beer to cost between $4.00 and $6.00.
If you purchase a beer, you can estimate around $4.00 to $6.00 per can/bottle and about a dollar or two more for draft beer with an additional 15% gratuity added in. Disney Cruise Line does offer a beer mug program you may be interested in. The 22 oz. mug (around $15.00 to $16.00) gets filled for the price of a 16 oz.
Soft drinks are included at no extra cost with meals, while additional charges apply for bar drinks, beer, wine and bottled water. There is no charge for soft drinks at the Beverage Station on Deck 9 of the Disney Magic and the Disney Wonder.
First, to answer a common question, there is no “unlimited alcohol” or “all you can drink” package onboard Disney Cruise ships. But you can find package discounts for purchasing multiple beverages at once.
pour in a normal glass, so doing the simple math, you get 5 extra ounces each time you use it. If you are a big drinker, you're going to be saving a lot of money over the course of your cruise by having the refillable mug. Don't think you can get your money's worth out of it in only one cruise?
There are a lot of great and unique cocktail options, but one caught everyone by surprise. On the menu is a drink called the Kaiburr Crystal, which costs a whopping $5,000!
Bring your own cups
While they do have paper cups, you'll find that they're super small and there are times when you want to bring a drink back to your room or while you're doing various activities. On our last cruise, I decided to get crafty and make personalized Disney Cruise cups.
The drinks package must only be used by the person who bought the package and any guests found to be sharing the package may have their package cancelled without any form of a refund. There are a number of different types of drinks packages on a cruise and what the include and how they work varies.
Disney Cruise Line Guests 21 years and older may bring a maximum of 2 bottles of unopened wine or champagne (no larger than 750 ml) or 6 beers (no larger than 12 ounces) on board at the beginning of the voyage and at each port of call. These beverages must be packed in carry-on (not checked) bags or luggage.
It gets harder to interpret "unlimited" when it comes to alcoholic-beverage plans because of the added factor of intoxication. Cruise lines may offer "unlimited' adult-beverage packages. but if you're visibly intoxicated, passing out, or being hostile to staff or passengers, they will slow you down or shut you off.
Yep, you can purchase and wander with alcohol in Animal Kingdom, Epcot, and Disney's Hollywood Studios, but you can't leave the park with it. Many guests are intimately familiar with that “chug at the gate” policy.
Although bottled water is not included in your cruise fare, you will be able to purchase bottled water packages onboard, or you can even purchase a bottled water package before your cruise to have delivered to your stateroom upon your arrival!
To ensure the comfort of all guests, Disney Cruise Line does allow smoking onboard in designated areas. On the Disney Dream, you can smoke anytime on Deck 13 forward, on the port side near Currents Bar, or on Deck 12 aft, also on the port side in the outdoor area accessible through the Meridian Lounge.
Standard alcohol packages average $55 to $65 per person, per day, and the price likewise varies both by cruise line and drink inclusions.
Onboard Beverage Service
Many of the beverages served during your cruise are complimentary. However, all alcoholic beverages and certain other drinks will be charged to your stateroom folio. Beverages included at no extra charge: Soft drinks, coffee and tea served during meals.
That said, most beers will run in the neighborhood of $7-11 per serving, a glass of most wines is in the $8-18 range, and most cocktails are in the $12-$20 range. The menus for all Walt Disney World restaurants and lounges are available, with pricing, on the Disney website or on TouringPlans.
Disney Cruise Line staterooms are cleverly configured for families in the bathrooms, too. Most staterooms will have a split bathroom, where one room contains a bathtub and shower combination with a sink and the other room has a toilet and a sink. Both allow family members to either help a child or split up for privacy.
Disney Cruise Bar Menus
Each glass of wine in the Sommelier Bin is $10. You ask your Server for a glass of white, red, or sparkling wine. They will choose one for you based on which bottles they already have open. You could really get lucky and get a much more expensive wine for a bargain price.
You are certainly welcome to bring bottled water on your Disney Cruise. It must be factory sealed and in its original packaging. If bringing water, it must be carried on with you as it cannot be with your checked luggage. You may also choose to purchase bottled water on the ship.
Cruise line drinks packages let you order as many drinks as you want while on a cruise for one flat fee. This takes the place of paying for drinks one at a time. At some lines, there are several tiers of drinks packages. Basic tiers often just include sodas and bottled water.
Although cruise midnight buffets are nearly extinct, several lines still offer a spread of snacks that are available into the wee hours of the morning. Beyond the buffet options are other tidbits for those feeling peckish after a long night of dancing or watching alfresco movies.
Generally, you are allowed to walk around a cruise ship carrying alcoholic drinks with you. As long as you're behaving respectfully, you're welcome to grab a drink from any bar or server and take it with you around the ship. There might be some limitations depending on the cruise line and where you're headed.
No need to bring your own beach towels on the ship because towels are provided on the pool deck. If you'll be visiting Castaway Cay, Disney's amazing private island, you'll also receive towels as you disembark the ship on the island to use for the day.
