If you usually get 8 hours of shut-eye, you may need 10 when you're pregnant to feel rested. But if you're too busy to squeeze in 10 hours, aim for 8 hours of sleep at night and nap during the day.
Don't feel guilty about taking a long nap during the day or sleeping longer at night. And don't judge yourself as lazy. Your body is working hard to make a human being. That's why the Foundation recommends that pregnant women get enough sleep.
Aim for at least eight hours of sleep every night. Resting on the left or right side will keep blood flowing well to the baby and ease swelling. For added comfort, place pillows between the legs and under the belly.

Is bed rest recommended? There is no evidence that bed rest during pregnancy — at home or in the hospital — is effective at treating preterm labor or preventing premature birth.
Likewise, don't worry if you feel like you're sleeping a lot during your pregnancy third trimester. This is likely just a result of the extra energy the fetus requires.
When fatigue happens in the third trimester, it's generally because the baby's gotten bigger. Carrying around that extra weight can be tiring on its own, but it also makes other things harder, including sleeping comfortably.

Bending during pregnancy: the third trimester
Even in your third trimester of pregnancy, bending is still considered safe for your baby. You'll probably find it becomes increasingly difficult for you, though, if not impossible. Apart from your extra body weight, the size of your belly is increasing.
Pregnancy is not an excuse (unfortunately, for some) for getting out of household chores. Most are perfectly safe.
In the third trimester (weeks 28 to 40) you can carry on exercising as long as you feel well and comfortable. If you feel okay, you can stay active right up to the birth of your baby. Keep doing low-impact activities, such as walking and swimming. You can do gentle stretches to reduce aches and pains.
The best time to do maternity session is around 30 to 33 weeks. At this stage the belly bump is showing nicely and it is not too close to the due date.
The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) recommends women take at least six weeks off work following childbirth.
