They say it's best to weigh yourself after you've gone to the bathroom (and eliminated any extra water weight). To add complexity, they recommend weighing in before you shower, eat, drink, or get dressed for the day.
You have lost water weight due to the heat from the shower. Your body is trying to keep its temperature constant and attempts to do that by evaporative cooling (which doesn't work quite as well in the humid environment of a shower).
“Most stool weighs about 100 grams or 0.25 pounds. This can vary based on a person's size and bathroom frequency. That said, poop is made up of about 75% water, so going to the bathroom gives off a little bit of water weight,” says Natalie Rizzo, MS, RD.

3. Do we really weigh more when we're soaking wet? Probably not. Any water on your body, or in your hair, probably wouldn't account for more than an ounce or two (1/16th or 1/8th of a pound).
You should step on the scale first thing in the morning. That's when you'll get your most accurate weight because your body has had the overnight hours to digest and process whatever you ate and drank the day before.

“No water can make you gain weight. In fact, your body has to expend calories to warm the water to the body's temperature which is 98 degrees. This means the water is raising the body's metabolic rate.
Your hot shower has to be three times longer than your cold shower. You can start with any temperature, which you can handle but the ratio has to be 3:1. For example, 90 seconds of hot shower has to be followed by 30 seconds of cold shower. Not only this, you have to repeat this cycle two-three times in one go.
“Skin will absorb some water during both baths and showers,” said Nazarian. “It's important to utilize the small window of opportunity — less than 30 minutes — after cleansing to apply your moisturizer to damp skin.” And it's important to make it a habit.
When you hit the lowest weight on the scale you will ever hit, that is an artificially low weight. You are probably running low on muscle glycogen and you are probably a bit dehydrated. Your actual true lowest body weight when it isn't depleted is probably a few pounds heavier.
Clothing. Wearing clothing while weighing yourself can add up to two pounds—more if you're wearing shoes. Again, this isn't a big deal if you consistently weigh yourself wearing the same thing, but since our clothes vary with our moods and seasons, it's best to go without when you step on the scale.
You're constipated. Having a bowel movement at least every other day is considered normal. Strict diets, skipping meals and restricting fluids can lead to constipation which can add 2 to 6 pounds to the scale. Ease constipation by increasing fiber-rich foods, water and exercise.
As your body metabolizes fat, fatty acid molecules are released into the bloodstream and travel to the heart, lungs, and muscles, which break them apart and use the energy stored in their chemical bonds. The pounds you shed are essentially the byproducts of that process.
In studies which have investigated the normal changes in body weight in healthy, free-living individuals, a fluctuation of + 1 kg in consecutive days is common, and fluctuations of + 0.5 kg are very common.
First things first: It's totally normal for your weight to fluctuate 1-2kg in a day.
One is fat, the other is muscle. The fat dumbbell would weigh 1kg the muscle dumbbell would weigh 3kg. But they would obviously both take up exactly the same amount of space. This is why your clothes could feel a lot looser even when the scales haven't changed that much.
Bloating may occasionally add a pound or two, but it doesn't actually signify weight gain. A simple way to tell the difference between bloating and weight gain or fat is how your stomach looks and feels. If your stomach is tight and hard, then bloating is the cause. If your stomach is soft and thick, then that's fat.
A person should also avoid weighing themselves on the days before their period. During the week leading up to menstruation, hormones cause fluctuations in weight. These fluctuations can temporarily affect weight measurements.
You can compare your current body fat percentage to your body fat percentage one month ago. If the current one is more, then obviously you have gained fat weight and if your body fat percentage is same or has decreased but you have gained weight, it is water weight.
