Pimping. The word pimp first appeared in English in 1607, in a Thomas Middleton play entitled Your Five Gallants. It is of unknown origin, but may have stemmed from the French infinitive pimper meaning to dress up elegantly and from the present participle pimpant meaning alluring in seductive dress.
It first appeared in English around 1600 and was used then as now to mean “a person who arranges opportunities for sexual intercourse with a prostitute.” The figurative meaning, “a person who panders to an undesirable or immoral impulse,” was found by the middle of the 17th century.
Women took to the streets to earn money and turned to men for protection. By the 1970s, a surfeit of blaxploitation movies introduced these anachronistic relationships to the masses. A decade later, 1980s comedies like "I'm Gonna Git You Sucka" and "Hollywood Shuffle" sent up the image of the pimp.
Prostitutes were called “fallen women,” because they were seen as an example of what fine, upstanding women in society should never become.
There are, however, three main categories that people try to put pimps into. These are: Romeo pimp, Gorilla pimp, and CEO pimp.
A procurer, colloquially called a pimp (if male) or a madam (if female, though the term pimp has still extensively been used for female procurers as well) or a brothel keeper, is an agent for prostitutes who collects part of their earnings.
Bottom Bitch: A pimp's main girl, who has been with him for a long time and earned his trust. She has more responsibilities than the other girls in the pimp's stable, such as recruiting new girls and keeping the other girls under control. Boyfriend: Term used by trafficked girls to refer to their trafficker.
Prostitutes also worked in saloons and dance halls. Their rooms were normally placed at the rear of the building. These women were rarely called prostitutes and went under the names of saloon girls, dancers, scarlet ladies, soiled doves and girls of the night.
Over time many professions have changed.
Prostitutes would be identified by only two forms of clothing they would wear. One was a special toga, and the other was to be completely naked. The toga the prostitutes were actually of a male design. In ancient Rome, women and men wore two different styles of togas.
It is thought to come from the 16th century French word "pimper," which means "alluring or seducing in outward appearance." Pimps eventually became known as men who solicited clients for prostitutes, who in turn give all the money to the pimp. In recent times, the word has come to mean stylish, cool or successful.

Pimp demographics vary.
Pimps were about 85 percent male, 12 percent female, and 3 percent transgender. The majority (66 percent) were black, followed by Latino (9.6 percent), white (8.2 percent), multi-racial (8.2 percent), and Asian (2.7 percent).
Pimp Canes are stereotypical possessions of pimps. They are used for aesthetic purposes and instruments of punishment rather than support.
What is this? What they do: Being a wood patternmaker is the rarest job in the world. Wood patternmakers create wooden molds that are used by metalworkers to cast molten metal.
Cowboys never had a reputation for being very sophisticated connoisseurs. The whiskey they drank was simply fuel for the saloons' many other pastimes, whatever those happened to be. Quality and flavor among whiskies in the late 1800s varied widely.
The style of the doors was praised by saloon owners as they let fresh air in and smoke out while allowing a cross breeze to cold the air. They also were able to maintain some privacy by having empty doors while still enticing people to come in when they hear the laughter and music.
Many were widows or needy women of good morals, forced to earn a living in an era that offered few means for women to do so. Earning as much as $10 per week, most saloon girls also made a commission from the drinks they sold. Whiskey sold to the customer was generally marked up 30-60% over its wholesale price.
In American pimp culture, a bottom girl, bottom woman, or bottom bitch is a term for a prostitute who sits atop the hierarchy of prostitutes working for a particular pimp. A bottom girl is usually the prostitute who has been with the pimp the longest and consistently makes the most money.
• Bottom or “Bottom Bitch”: A female appointed by the trafficker/pimp to supervise the others and report rule violations. Operating as his “right hand,” the Bottom may help instruct victims, collect money, book hotel rooms, post ads, or inflict punishments on other girls.
