Daphne Bridgerton is 21 when she makes her debut in British society. By season two, she'll be 22.
Daphne Bridgerton age
In the book, which season one is based on, Daphne is 21 years old. Phoebe Dynevor, who plays Daphne, was born in April 1995 so is 26 in real life.
SIMON BASSET - THE DUKE OF HASTINGS
The books reveal that Simon (Rege-Jean Page) was born in 1784 and since the show takes place in 1813, he is 29 when he meets Daphne.
Daphne Bridgerton
Since historically in this time period men often married later than women, the eight-year age difference between Daphne and Simon would have been considered a small one.

Ultimately, however, The Duke and I see them as a match made in heaven. The pair not only stay together, but they also go on to have five children.
In the Bridgerton book series by Julia Quinn, Simon and Daphne go onto have five children of their own.
Daphne's younger sister Eloise is supposed to be 18.
Eloise spends the entire first season (rightfully) complaining about how, as a woman, all she can do is get married and have children.
Eloise Bridgerton age
The second daughter of Lady Bridgerton, Eloise, who is already thinking and worrying about her path to marriage, is just 18 years old in the show. Actress Claudia Jessie, however, is 14 years old than her Bridgerton character at the age of 32.
While the series portrays young women in their early 20s (the real age of the actresses), in Regency-era London a debutante marrying during her first season out, like the series' protagonist Daphne, would actually have been no more than 16 years old.
Simon and Daphne's story ended with the birth of their first child. (In season 2, Daphne and her child made limited appearances while Simon's absence was explained by important work events that keep him away from the family.)
Sadly, as confirmed by the man himself, Regé-Jean Page, who played Simon, he will absolutely not be returning. The official reason stated has been that he only ever signed on for one season, being of the understanding that it was to be a short-run series. That he never had any intention of appearing beyond Season One.
Back in 2021, Regé-Jean Page made the decision to not return as Simon Basset, the Duke of Hastings, in Bridgerton season 2. Explaining why he opted not to come back, he told Variety that he initially signed on to the show because producers told him: “It's a one-season arc.
Daphne only appears in season 2 when the story needs her perspective — either as Anthony's brother or a woman who has gone through London's courtship season before. Because those moments come at Aubrey Hall, that's why she's on-screen primarily in the middle part of the season.
Despite Daphne making her entrance into society at 21, Eloise was pushed into the marriage mart much earlier, at the age of 18. She had already delayed her debut by a year, so she was compelled to appear before the Queen in season 2 of Bridgerton.
The baby that Niles and Daphne have at the end of the show is not a result of a real life pregnancy of Jane Leeves, the actress who plays Daphne. However, she was pregnant earlier in the show. In season 8 the actress got pregnant and it was simply written into the show as a weight gain.
“Being autistic underpins literally everything about me, what I eat, where I go, who I'm friends with, what I'm interested in, what's hard for me,” Eloise explains, “My biggest thing was that I wanted to get across in the book was that I have this brain, and because I'm autistic, this is how I view the world.
This is because, in her words, Eloise doesn't have a “regular brain at all”. She's neurodivergent – specifically, she is autistic with ADHD. In Obsessive, Intrusive, Magical Thinking, Eloise invites us with her on a deep-dive into her life, interests and fears, all through the lens of her neurodivergent mind.
Eloise does not become pregnant in Quinn's second book, but she does become a stepmum in the fifth book titled To Sir Phillip, With Love, where she is considered a “spinster” because she is unmarried at the age of 28.
Gregory is the youngest Bridgerton son. So far, he mostly appears in fights with his younger sister, Hyacinth. As the pair establish during a dinner squabble in season one, Gregory may be older, but Hyacinth is taller.
Eloise and Phillip have three children: Penelope, Georgiana, and Frederick.
Edwina is 17 in the "Bridgerton" book that inspired the second season, and while it's likely that she's the same in the show, it's possible Netflix adjusted her age, as they did Kate's. Kate is younger in the book — around 21 — which would make Edwina about 22 years old if their age gap remained consistent.
Simon ultimately realizes that he wants to live for himself instead of his father. Four years later, Daphne gives birth to their fourth child and first son, David. Simon knows he will love his son no matter what, just as he does his three daughters.
In author Julia Quinn's Bridgerton book series, Kate and Anthony welcome four children: Edmund, Miles, Charlotte and Mary. They also have a dog named Newton.
Daphne Basset (née Bridgerton), Duchess of Hastings (played by Phoebe Dynevor) is the fourth Bridgerton child and eldest daughter of the family.
