Kreacher was not however fully able to betray the Order because he wasn't their protector and couldn't say where the House of Black was. Kreacher however sold enough information to get Narcissa knowing that Harry loved Sirius and would go to protect him from Voldemort in a possible hostage crisis.
He thought that if he called Kreature, Death Eaters might also come with him. When in reality, elfish apparition is not same as Wizard's apparition and does not have the flaw of taking along unwanted people.
Regulus, we're told, always liked Kreacher and treated him with kindness. There was no fame or glory in his death, yet Regulus had his legacy.
Therefore, when Regulus Black gave Kreacher the horcrux to hold onto, it turned Kreacher bad. The horcrux amplified the negative emotions that Ron had and similarly it makes Kreacher hate mudbloods even more and disrespect Hermoine way more than he would have if he didn't have the horcrux.
Kreacher was so powerful that he was able to Disapparate where wizards could not, escaping the Inferi that surrounded the locket Horcrux.
Elf Traits
An elf typically claims adulthood and an adult name around the age of 100 and can live to be 750 years old. Alignment: Elves love freedom, variety, and self- expression, so they lean strongly toward the gentler aspects of chaos.

And for another thing, Kreacher knew too much about the Order. He was racist, held on to the traditional Black beliefs, and hated Sirius passionately.
