When Game of Thrones, thefirst book, starts, Tommen is Seven. Magaery is 14 in the same book.
They made Tommen a bit older on the series, but actor Dean-Charles Chapman was still 16 years old when he filmed the scene... while his scene partner Natalie Dormer was 33.
In the books, though, Tommen is only 8. That doesn't stop his family from marrying him off to Margaery, but there is, thankfully, no consummation. Book Tommen remains an innocent boy who loves his kittens and doesn't like eating beets. Show Tommen's age is kept ambiguous, but actor Dean-Charles Chapman is 17.
In reality, his biological father is his mother's twin brother, Jaime Lannister. He has a younger sister, Myrcella, and a younger brother, Tommen, both of whom are also products of Jaime and Cersei's incestuous relationship. Their sole biological grandparents, Tywin and Joanna Lannister, were also first cousins.
Cersei Lannister has a complicated history with children. When Game of Thrones first started, she had three: Joffrey, Myrcella, and Tommen. All were passed off as the legitimate offspring of her husband, King Robert Baratheon, but in fact they were bastards fathered by her twin brother, Jaime Lannister.
This makes their characters' age differences about 8 years — give or take a year or two.
Prince Tommen Baratheon is the younger brother of Joffrey and Princess Myrcella and is second in line for the throne.
On Game of Thrones, the rose is the sigil of House Tyrell, and when Margaery gave her grandmother, Lady Olenna, a note with a simple drawing of a rose, she was confirming her loyalty to her house and her family above all else, so they wouldn't be fooled by her sudden piety.
She had to know about their relationship, and he never consummated their marriage. Margaery remained a virgin.
Yes, Joffrey genuinely liked Margery Tyrell. He liked as much as someone like him could/can like a person.
He is 12 years old at the beginning of the series and later becomes the second House Baratheon king to sit on the Iron Throne.
I mean, officially, Margaery is a virgin. Even Loras is ambiguous about whether Margaery is a virgin or not, but it's definite that she didn't sleep with either of her husbands. Joffrey wasn't even interested in sex so much… [Laughs.]
Cersei almost uses the poison on Tommen, to prevent him from being captured when the battle seems lost.
Game of Thrones never explicitly revealed who Tommen's rightful heir to the Iron Throne was after his death, with Cersei seizing the crown instead. Cersei became Queen of Westeros after Tommen's death in Game of Thrones season 6, but whether or not she was actually his heir to the Iron Throne is another matter.
Although Baratheons in name, Cersei's children were fathered by her twin brother Jaime. Their eldest son Joffrey starts GoT at 16 and dies at his wedding when he's 19. Myrcella begins GoT at age 10 and dies at age 14.
History. Cersei is technically her parents' oldest child, although her twin Jaime was born mere moments later, clutching her heel. The twins were nine years old when their brother Tyrion was born, killing their mother and causing their father to become cold and bitter.
She had to know about their relationship, and he never consummated their marriage. Margaery remained a virgin.
Tommen Baratheon (Callum Wharry)
However, the young actor was recast with Dean-Charles Chapman (who briefly played Tommen's cousin Martyn Lannister in season three) when the role required an older actor for Tommen's more prominent and mature storylines.
He has an older brother, Joffrey, and an older sister Myrcella with the same obfuscated parentage. Tommen is good-natured and passive in contrast to his brother Joffrey, who sometimes bullied Tommen for amusement. Like his sister, he is fond of his uncle Tyrion Lannister.
After Joffrey's death, Margaery moves on to the next Baratheon in line to sit on the Iron Throne, Tommen. Tommen winds up truly loving Margaery, and when Cersei blows up the Sept of Baelor, killing Margaery among countless others, he takes his own life.
Joffrey's evil behaviours took root in (1) he was impotent; and (2) he was sexually aroused by inflicting pains of others. Isn't it curious that not once in the books or in the TV series Joffrey ever had sex? He was of age. Tommen was 5 years younger than him and had no problem consummating the marriage with Margaery.
When Cersei has an affair with Lancel Lannister, their cousin. Cersei sleeps with their cousin Lancel throughout seasons one and two. Lancel does everything she asks him to, including causing the death of King Robert. In season five, Lancel confesses the affair and the death of Robert to the High Sparrow.
While filming season one of Game of Thrones in 2010, Headey was pregnant with her first child Wylie. The producers decided to use a body double, while also dressing Headey in long flowing dresses and robes to hide the pregnancy.
