Soak your anal area in plain warm water for 10 to 15 minutes two to three times a day. A sitz bath fits over the toilet. Take oral pain relievers. You can use acetaminophen (Tylenol, others), aspirin or ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin IB, others) temporarily to help relieve your discomfort.
While there is no specific timeline for how long a hemorrhoid lasts, most people find relief from symptoms in a few days. In instances where pain persists for more than a week, consult your physician.
Try to lie on your stomach. It is the best position for sleeping with haemorrhoids. It reduces the discomfort and pressure on the back and anal area. Try sleeping on your side with a pillow between your legs.
Weightlifting and other activities that cause excessive strain put extra pressure on the veins in your rectum. Heavy lifting outside the gym could also exacerbate hemorrhoids. If you regularly lift heavy objects at the gym or at work, practice proper lifting techniques and reduce strain on your back and your rear.

Simply put, drinking plenty of water helps reduce and prevent the symptoms that cause hemorrhoid flare-ups and manage the condition long-term. It may be the most important thing you can do, but it's sometimes easier said than done.
Standing or sitting for extended periods can worsen your hemorrhoids since they exert pressure on your blood vessels. However, lying down isn't always the answer because certain positions can also worsen your symptoms.
(If the bath water is too hot, swelling around the anus will get worse.) Also, putting a cloth-covered ice pack on the anus or sitting on an ice pack for 10 minutes, 4 times a day might help. For mild discomfort, your healthcare provider may prescribe a cream or ointment for the painful area.
If they enlarge, they become constricted by the anal sphincters (muscles). Eventually, the pressure is so great, that no blood can get into or out of the hemorrhoid. Without blood, there is no oxygen flowing to the hemorrhoids. This leads to a condition called necrosis, or cell death.
If the hemorrhoid bursts, an emergency care must be sought. The serious complication that's caused by excess blood loss are dizziness, faintness or even hypotension/shock. However, per rectal bleeding can also be a particular sign of other disease conditions, such as colorectal and anal canal cancer.

Haemorrhoids, also known as piles, are swellings containing enlarged blood vessels that are found inside or around the bottom (the rectum and anus). In many cases, haemorrhoids don't cause symptoms, and some people don't even realise they have them.

Instead, try sitting in a recumbent position on a bed or couch to provide proper support and promote healing.
Lift your legs
The average toilet puts your body in a position that may make it hard to empty your bowels. You may find it easier to eliminate if you elevate your knees slightly. Try placing a short stool under your feet when it's time to go.
Larger hemorrhoids, particularly ones that cause a lot of pain, swelling, and itchiness, can't go away on their own and may require treatment from a doctor to heal. Pregnant patients may find that hemorrhoids only go away after they give birth. It's possible for hemorrhoids to return after they've been treated.
