A sense of holding back or being unable to relax in certain situations that remind you of the painful incident from the past. A deadening of your spirit, such that you sometimes can't feel joy, experience intimacy or cry appropriate tears numbing inside you.
When your spirit breaks, everything else falls with it. Whether it's your love for others, love for yourself, your emotional stability, or your self-confidence… everything is affected to some degree. This is because your spirit is the intangible, invisible central pillar of your being that houses everything.
To "break someone's spirit" is to destroy their self-esteem, to take away their joy in life, their belief and joy in who they are, to take away their dreams and the life they had hoped for, and to have them emotionally beaten down to the point where they go from being who they were to someone who has lost all hopes and ...
The best way to mend your spirit is to do what you enjoy. Go back to your routine after having successfully isolated the negative feelings and emotions that the difficult situation left behind. Let nothing and nobody ruin your day.
How can you tell if you have suffered a soul loss? You may feel detached, empty, devoid of purpose, unable to concentrate and aimless in life. Some people experience deep depression and suicidal thoughts. Many simply suffer memory loss of crucial years from early childhood.
Emotional numbness. Inability to empathize with others having a hard time. Experience of loneliness while also making excuses to be alone. Body fluctuating between feeling like a lead weight and being on the verge of collapse or meltdown.
We enter heaven immediately upon our death, or our souls sleep until the second coming of Christ and the accompanying resurrection. Most have chosen to believe what the Bible appears to overwhelmingly propose: our souls (spirits) penetrate heaven immediately after we take our final breath.
So with an experience that appears life-threatening, the soul may begin to leave the body as part of the traumatic reaction. In the same way that medical shock is defined as a dangerous reduction in blood flow or loss of blood, wholistic shock is a dangerous loss of soul energy.
Interventions for soul injury are different and need to include grief, forgiveness (especially self-forgiveness), and self-compassion. True forgiveness is done in the soul…in the gut. Until we recognize that, forgiveness remains a psychological “letting go” process without depth and without long- lasting effect.
Depersonalization disorder is marked by periods of feeling disconnected or detached from one's body and thoughts (depersonalization). The disorder is sometimes described as feeling like you are observing yourself from outside your body or like being in a dream.
“Behold, he offereth himself a sacrifice for sin, to answer the ends of the law, unto all those who have a broken heart and a contrite spirit; and unto none else can the ends of the law be answered” (2 Nephi 2:6–7).
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” The Good News: Though you may feel defeated, God is closer than you realize. He is always with you and can heal your heart.
According to Cummins, a lost soul can be the result of circumstances that don't align with your soul, including things like abusive relationships, a bad work environment, or simply neglecting your true passions and interests. "That can really fracture our spirit and our soul on all levels," she adds.
An inability to feel the Spirit, or a general feeling of apathy or numbness, is often a symptom of poor mental health. God has not forsaken you. Consider for a moment that the Spirit may be communicating with you in a different way than you have experienced before.
In fact, the Bible indicates we will know each other more fully than we do now. The Apostle Paul declared, "Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known" (1 Corinthians 13:12). It's true that our appearance will change, because God will give us new bodies, similar to Jesus' resurrection body.
As for the rest of humankind, after the final judgment, it is expected that the righteous will receive eternal life and live forever on an Earth turned into a paradise. Those granted immortality in heaven are absolutely immortal and cannot die by any cause. Even God himself wouldn't be able to kill them.
