An Image in an HTML Email. Using an image in an HTML email to see if your email has been opened is more reliable than read receipts and delivery receipts – and they don't need the recipient to approve the receipt.
To find out when an email you sent was opened, you can request a read receipt. A read receipt is sent to you as an email with the time and date of when your message was opened. Want to get more out of Google apps at work or school?
Apple Mail doesn't offer an in-built read receipt tracker, so to track who reads your emails and how long they look at them, it requires downloading an app. The apps provide a completely guarded way to check in-depth data about when, where and for how long your email was opened.
Choose Options form the FILE menu. Click on Mail in the Outlook Options dialog window. Scroll down to the Tracking area. Check the 'Delivery receipt confirming the message was delivered to the recipient's e-mail server' and 'Read receipt confirming the recipient viewed the message' boxes.
Press Alt + F, O, M. Click on Receipts tab. Under Requesting Read Receipts, check the checkbox Request a read receipt for all sent messages. Under Returning Read Receipts, click the radio button: Notify me for each read receipt request if you want to return read receipts.
Tracing an Email Sender's Location Through Reverse Email Lookup Tools. Another way to trace an email sender's location is through a reverse email lookup tool, such as EmailTracer or EmailSherlock. These tools allow you to enter the sender's email address and return information such as location, ISP, and domain history.
Track opens and clicks on emails you send through Hotmail.com. Hotmail.com (Outlook.com) doesn't provide open tracking or read receipts via their webmail interface, but they support IMAP, which means you can use another email program like Mailspring to send messages with read receipts and open tracking enabled.
If you haven't been blocked, the status will read "Delivered." And if the person has enabled read receipts, it will later turn to "Read" once they open the message. A red flag that you've been blocked is when you don't see the delivery status or the read receipt at all.
On the iPhone App
The Gmail app for phone devices also allows you to receive read receipts for emails sent using the app. To do so, launch the Gmail app and select the organizational account option from the search bar by touching the account symbol on the search bar.
A delivered text message status does not necessarily mean that the recipient reads the message. It simply means that the message was received by their device and is stored in their memory. The recipient may still choose not to read or open the message, even though it has been delivered successfully.
Whether you're on a Mac or PC, iPhone or Android, use this Gmail trick: Look for the “Message sent” bar at the bottom of your screen. Click the “Undo” button next to “Message sent.” You will see a notification confirming the message was unsent.
Whether you're giving out your real email address or going through an alias, you may not want email senders to know if and when you read their messages. They can learn a lot about you just from that. This tracking happens through tiny little images — a pixel, basically — embedded in the email.
There are some different ways to conduct a free reverse email search. The most popular method is to use a search engine like Google or Bing. Enter the email address into the search bar and see what comes up. You can also try using a people search site like whitepages.com or pipl.com.
You can track someone on Google Maps who is sharing their location with you by opening the "Location sharing" menu and tapping the contact's name. You can track a friend, co-worker or family member on Google Maps, but that person needs to enable location tracking for you specifically.
Click the three-dot menu above your selected emails and click the Mark as read option. Alternatively, select the Mark as read icon (the symbol that looks like an open envelope) from the toolbar located at the top.
It means that the message was not sent to their phone. When it doesn't say Delivered, it means the other person is texting someone else or on the phone. Once they stop texting or hang up the phone, you will see the text message has been delivered.
They were sent. That's what "Delivered" means. The fact that it hasn't changed to "Read" means they have have it on their device but have not looked at it yet. Or, person may also have turned off the option to show that they have read the message.
