Without a Vision People Perish
And without any revelation of His will, we have no way of creating a Christ-fueled vision for our family. However, when we are actively seeking God, we not only download His vision for our lives, we are able to teach our children to do the same.
In the Bible, the word vision is more often used as an encounter with God where he imparts special revelation, often intuitively, in dreams, or "in dark sayings." (Num. 12:6) Sometimes visions can be theophanies, where God speaks directly to the visionary (Numbers 12:8).
Vision is seeing the future before it ever happens. God gave us the gift of vision so we would not have to live only by what we can see. The words vision and revelation are sometimes interchangeable. To reveal means to unveil something that was there all along but could not be seen externally.
God sees each of us through eyes of unconditional love, and He loves everyone—it doesn't matter what they do, where they work, how much money they have, how educated they are or what they look like. We need to do the same. We need to learn to see others as God sees them.
Christly vision is the ability to discern reality in all things -- to see the ideas of Mind's creation. Spiritual discernment -- the wisdom, understanding, intelligence of Mind -- never wears out, is never used up. Soul's faculty of sight is unimpairable, indestructible, permanent.
He sees the truth of God as the only single force behind all creation from the highest Brahma to the smallest ant or insect. He is the prime mover in all beings, ever aware of the needs of each one and always at hand to protect each and every aspect of His creation.
“Open our eyes, Lord; we want to see Jesus.” Please help us to experience your presence here and now. In your name, Amen.
John 4:27-42
As Jesus' disciples returned and wondered what was happening, Jesus said, "Open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest." In other words, there were many people ready to receive eternal life. The Samaritan woman sowed seeds of testimony that produced a harvest in her town.
To see and hear the hidden things of God requires spiritual eyes and ears. Hunger for spiritual truth requires awakened senses, and to love the things of God requires a new heart. (See Ezekiel 11:19 and 36:26.) God alone is the source of spiritual eyes and undivided hearts.
Vision is the ability to set goals and objectives — to create a mental picture of what it is we want to achieve in the future. Without vision, it is easy to focus on the short-term profit and forget about the long-term goal.
Dreams are drifts of the imagination, as if one imaginary clouds in the sky. Visions are scripted efforts to effect change. They occur personally and organizationally.
A God-given vision points to God!
However, when God gives us a vision, the vision is often something that would be impossible if left simply to our human ability. Good ideas on their own will come up short, which is why God invites us to partner with Him by bringing our ideas and using them according to His plan.
Seeing through spiritual eyes is demonstrated, for example, at Moses' burning bush: “The angel of the Lord appeared to him in a blazing fire from the midst of a bush; and he looked, and behold, the bush was burning with fire, yet the bush was not consumed” (Exodus 3:2). Moses saw a shrub on fire with his natural eyes.
We Are Precious and Honored in His Eyes
In Isaiah 43:4, it says, “Since you are precious and honored in my sight and because I love you, I will give people in exchange for you, nations in exchange for your life.” In God's eyes, we are precious and honored.
You are loved
In God, you have a close friend who knows you and understands you better than anyone. He sees your heart and desire to be good; He sees your struggles and how you are drawn to things that aren't good. He is always there to listen and help when you pray to Him with a sincere and humble heart.
Spiritual Eye Meaning
The spiritual eye is a reflection of the cosmic energy entering the body and sustaining it. When, through concentration, you see and penetrate through the spiritual eye, you will enter the Spirit beyond creation.
Each of us is born with the four spiritual gifts--clairvoyance (inner vision), clairaudience (inner thoughts or ideas), prophecy (inner knowing), and healing (inner feelings).
