There are no exact times for when morning begins (also true of evening and night) because it can vary according to one's lifestyle and the hours of daylight at each time of year. However, morning strictly ends at noon, which is when afternoon starts. Morning can also be defined as starting from midnight to noon.
The easy way to remember it is to think of “am” as “after midnight” (I suppose you could also think of “pm” as “pre-midnight”, but now we're getting a bit silly). It sometimes gets confusing for people because they think of 1 am as still being night, but after midnight, you're technically in the early morning hours.
It's the same in the US. We refer to any time after midnight (but before noon) as "morning." Of course, 1:00 in the morning /is/ night. But we still say "one in the morning."
1am is the time of day that the clock says “1am”. Usually this is set to an hour past midnight or 13 hours after the Sun was at it's zenith. If it occurs between dusk and dawn, then it is “nighttime”… since it is between midnight and dawn, it is the “very early morning” part of the day.
For example, 5 am is early in the morning, and 5 pm is late in the afternoon; 1 am is one hour after midnight, while 11 pm is one hour before midnight. Ante meridiem is commonly denoted as AM, am, a.m., or A.M.; post meridiem is usually abbreviated PM, pm, p.m., or P.M.
Waking up between 11pm and 1am
As your gall bladder works to break down all the fats you've consumed during the day, waking up between these hours could suggest that you need to review what you're eating before bed – or that you need to have your dinner earlier in the evening.
For those who sleep on time, 1 am is a deep sleep phase and you are completely relaxed. But if you wake up at this hour, it means that you have too much worry in your heart and mind. And those troubles and resentments are now testing you.
Midnight is the zero point in time when we start to build up 24 one-hour periods of time to make up a new day. So midnight is the point 0am. After a period of one hour we reach the point in time called 1am, and after 12 periods of one hour we reach the point called noon.
24-Hour Clock
There are also several ways to write AM and PM, including: ALL CAPS, small caps, or lower case (e.g., 12 AM, 12 AM, or 12 am) With or without periods between the letters (e.g., 8 PM or 8 P.M.) With or without a space after the number (e.g., 1 AM or 1AM)
Morning is the period from sunrise to noon. It is preceded by the twilight period of dawn. There are no exact times for when morning begins (also true of evening and night) because it can vary according to one's lifestyle and the hours of daylight at each time of year.
There's not really a single word for it. There are some expressions that vary with region though. Some include: "(very) early morning", "the predawn hours", "the dead of night", "the wee hours (of the morning)", "the middle of the night", "past midnight", "before dawn", and my personal favorite "past my bedtime!"
Two am is in the wee hours of the morning if that's when you have to get up but very late at night if that's when you go to bed. We might say two in the morning, especially if need want to distinguish it from two in the afternoon, but we might also say two o'clock at night.
Answer and Explanation:
Morning technically starts after midnight. However, 3 a.m. is too early to be considered part of the daytime. For most of the world, it is still dark outside at this time and most people are sleeping.
“Goodnight” is not at all a greeting expression in English. You can only use “Good night” to take someone's leave or to say “Bye” to someone at night. Note: Instead of saying “Goodnight” to greet someone at night, say “Good evening” before midnight and “Good morning” after midnight.
If you are just getting up after sleeping and you are beginning your day at 1AM, “Good Morning” would be appropriate, otherwise I should think “Good Evening” will suffice.
The 12-hour clock divides the 24-hour day into two periods. am stands for the Latin ante meridiem, translating to "before midday". This is the time before the sun has crossed the meridian. pm stands for post meridiem or "after midday" – after the sun has crossed the meridian.

Converting Times from 12-hour clock to 24-Hour clock
In 24-hour (military) time, 12:00am is equal to 0000 and is read as “0 hundred hours”. 1:00am, or 0100, is pronounced as “zero 1 hundred hours”. The rest of the hours between 12:00 AM and noon on the 12-hour clock are equal to the hours between 0000hrs and 1200hrs.
The American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language states "By convention, 12 AM denotes midnight and 12 PM denotes noon.
“If you are hungry, you should eat something, regardless of the time of day,” says Aimee Takamura, registered dietitian and director of wellness and sustainability at Restaurant Associates. “The act of eating late at night does not affect metabolism or lead to many of the adverse effects you may have heard of.
Early morning: 6-9 a.m. Mid-morning: 8-10 a.m. Afternoon: noon-6 p.m. Early afternoon: noon-3 p.m.
As the dividing point between one day and another, midnight defies easy classification as either part of the preceding day or of the following day. Though there is no global unanimity on the issue, most often midnight is considered the start of a new day and is associated with the hour 00:00.
“It's very common for people to wake up around 2 or 3 a.m. because this is when our sleep architecture (the pattern of our sleep stage cycles throughout the night) naturally has a shift from more deep sleep to more REM sleep.
