A0 is eight times (x8) the size of an A3 paper sheet.
Despite having the lowest number, this is the largest of them all, with A0 paper size being 841 x 1189 mm.
Standard Paper Sizes
Size A4 has its shortest edge (210mm) doubled to be the longest edge of A3 (420mm). A3 has its shortest edge (297mm) doubled to be the longest edge of A2 (594mm). And similarly up to A0.
4A0 & 2A0 - The DIN 476 Oversize Formats
The paper sizes bigger than A0, 4A0 & 2A0, aren't formerly defined by ISO 216 but are commonly used for oversized paper. The origin of these formats is in the German DIN 476 standard, that was the original base document from which ISO 216 was derived.
The largest sheet from the A series is the A0 size of paper. It has an area of 1m2, and the dimensions are 841mm × 1189mm.
A Sizes for Posters or Paper
The larger the size of paper the smaller the number - A10 is the smallest and A0 size is the largest. ISO 216 specifies the international standard of paper sizes which is used in most countries worldwide apart from Mexico, Dominican Republic, USA and Canada.
The A2 size print measures 42.0 x 59.4cm, 16.53 x 23.39 inches, if mounted 59.4 x 76.6cm, 23.39 x 30.16 inches. The A3 size print measures 29.7 x 42.0cm, 11.69 x 16.53 inches, if mounted 40.6 x 50.8cm, 15.98 x 20 inches.
841 x 1189mm
The A0 size is comparable to a table top.
A0 is twice (x2) the size of an A1 paper sheet.
The A3 is larger than the A1 with more rear seat and boot space. You'll also find a more powerful selection of engines in the A3, with the A1 missing out on the pricey high-performance and plug-in-hybrid options you'll find at the top of the A3 lineup.
Compared to other A series formats, a sheet of A1 paper is the same as: half an A0 sheet. two A2 sheets. four A3 sheets.
Every 'A' size is double the previous size: A3 is twice the size of A4, and so forth. Remember that A8 is very small (about 2in x 3in) and A0 is big (nearly 3ft x 4ft).
A3 is bigger than A4, A5, A6, A7, A8, A9 and A10 but half the size of A2.
For example, B1 is between A0 and A1 in size. While the B series is less common in office use, it is more regularly used in other special situations, such as posters, books, envelopes and passports.
(international standards) ISO 216 standard paper size of 1189 mm × 1682 mm (46.81 in × 66.22 in), with a surface area of 2 m2 (21.5 sq ft).
A0 – 841 mm X 1189 mm – 84.1cm x 118.9cm – 33.11 inch x 46.81 inch – (aspect ratio) (1.414:1). A1 – 594 mm X 841 mm – 59.4cm x 84.1cm – 23.39 inch x 33.11 inch – (1.414:1).
Format A1 is A0 cut into two equal pieces. In other words, the height of A1 is the width of A0 and the width of A1 is half the height of A0. All smaller A series formats are defined in the same way.
An A2 piece of paper measures 420 × 594 mm or 16.5 × 23.4 inches. Cutting it in half will create two A3 sheets of paper.
A3 paper size measurements are 297 mm x 420 mm, 29.7 cm x 42 cm or 11.7 in x 16.5 in. Its printing surface is large enough for everyday use at 0.125 m² or 1250 cm².
A0 is sixteen times (x16) the size of an A4 paper sheet.
A0 is mainly used for technical drawing, which requires sheets that are large enough for a design to fit comfortably, without having to use a magnifying glass. It can also be used for posters, although the most widely used formats for these are 700 x 1000 mm and 1000 x 1400 mm.
All A size posters retain exactly the same aspect ratio, regardless of whether you are printing a large A0 poster or a standard A4 print.
The larger the size of the paper, the smaller the number - A10 is the smallest and A0 size is the largest. 'A' sizes are commonly used across the globe and in 99% of our own printing.
