Australian farms are the first place we go for our fresh meat, fruit and veg. We call it our Aussie first supplier policy and it means we'll always source from Australian growers, whenever we can. Not only does this support local farmers, but the taste and quality can't be beaten.
We do stock a range of international delicacies such as cheese, wines and treats. All fresh meat is Australian and 97% of our fruit and vegetables are Australian grown. We only source a small portion of fruit and vegetables from overseas when they are out of season in Australia.
You will regularly find food and Aldi Finds sourced or made in the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, Thailand, China and a handful of other countries across the globe. If you want to know where something is made from Aldi simply look on the packaging.
Thanks to our Aussie-first supplier policy, 100% of our fresh meat is proudly Australian grown. Our suppliers are some of Australia's best farmers, like the Thomas family, BE Campbells, the Bandari Food Group, Golden Cockerel and the Benders… just to name a few.
They source meat from regional farms
You'll find that meat is cheaper at Aldi than at competing stores, too. They typically purchase meat from regional farms. Buying local usually means the company can pay less for the transportation of the product. In return, this means a lower cost for customers.
