Buffy the Vampire Slayer couldn't end without one last appearance from the Buff's first (and true!!) love
Angel accepts when they agree to rewrite Connor's memories of growing up in hell, allowing him to live a normal life with a new family. Afterwards, Angel appears in the penultimate and final episodes of Buffy, presenting Buffy with an amulet, which is given to Spike, to help her battle the First Evil.
Angel (David Boreanaz) is resurrected mysteriously by the unseen Powers That Be. While Buffy is happy to have Angel back, he seems to have lost much of his sanity in Hell. Buffy helps Angel recover but, having seen Angel's demonic side, Buffy's friends distrust him until he saves them from a monster.
After leaving Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel went on to have five full seasons of his own self-titled series and several tie-in comic series both having to do with and without Buffy. He blazed his own trail in that specific part of the Whedonverse.
The character of Angel is one of five characters to appear in both the series premiere and the series finale. Even though he leaves at the end of the third season, he appears in several later episodes: Pangs & The Yoko Factor in S4, Forever in S5, and End of Days & Chosen in S7.
In the seventh episode of Buffy's fifth season, Buffy asks Spike to recount his killings of previous slayers. During his explanatory flashbacks, the vampire shares details of meeting Drusilla (Juliet Landau) and also Angel and Darla (Julie Benz)—meaning we got a nice little Boreanaz guest spot.
But the curse isn't the only reason they couldn't be together. Angel came to realise that he was tying Buffy down away from a more normal life and young adulthood; he also came to realise that he needed his own separate life in order to work through his issues.
He confessed he loved her completely, but they couldn't be together when it cost her life and the people they still needed to help against the evil forces. Angel and Buffy shared one last desperate kiss before the day was ultimately turned back and he was once again a vampire.
Angel goes to Sunnydale in the penultimate episode "End of Days" and also appears in the series finale "Chosen". Angel gives Buffy the amulet (which is later worn by Spike in the final battle) and offers his help, but Buffy declines as she needs him to be the second front if they fail.
Due to the crossover embargo, this is the only season of Buffy in which Angel does not appear.
Spike continues to appear in Season 10, in which he and Buffy finally resume their romantic relationship while juggling the responsibility of rewriting the new rules of magic with the rest of the Scoobies.
Its blood, eventually found to be the Blood of Eternity, merges with his own, and he becomes human. Realizing what this means for their relationship, Angel spends the night with Buffy. However, Doyle shares the news that the Mohra demon is alive: the demon's rejuvenating blood also worked on itself.
She finds out about him being alive "off-screen" and their first meeting afterwards (late season 8, don't know the exact issue) is an extremely weird mix between Buffy being pissed that Spike didn't return to her sooner and Buffy fantasizing about jumping his bones, which many people disliked, but I personally loved.
After three seasons on Buffy, Cordelia left the series to move over to star in Angel, a spin-off series focusing on Buffy's vampire ex-lover Angel (David Boreanaz). The first season of Angel sees Cordelia move to Los Angeles, in the hopes of escaping her new-found poverty by becoming an actress.
The blood of Mohra demons, known as the Blood of Eternity, had healing abilities strong enough to resurrect Angel, a vampire, making him human again in 1999. During the Fall of Los Angeles, the Senior Partners turned Angel into a human again to weaken his ability to resist them.
Why Angel Ended After Season 5. David Fury, one of the show's producers, spoke on the real reason behind Angel's cancellation in 2004: Joss Whedon pushed the network for an early renewal, and they didn't go for it.
In a seemingly impossible event, vampires Angel and Darla had a child, the end result being Connor, a human with superhuman abilities. Connor is introduced in the episode "Lullaby," when Darla sacrifices herself to give birth to him, by staking herself in the heart.
Faith survived the final battle in Sunnydale and went off with Principal Robin Wood to explore their relationship.
Several newly-activated Slayers perish in the fight, as well as Scooby Gang member and vengeance demon Anya (Emma Caulfield). In the final moments of the episode, the rest of the group boards a school bus to flee the town of Sunnydale as the Hellmouth begins to collapse in on itself.
In November, the activist chimed in on the great debate over whether Angel or Spike was the “right” man for Buffy. To be fair, Angel was the right boyfriend for Buffy coming into her power. Spike was the right man to be with as she became the power.
He loved her differently, as others said. Buffy was more primal, passionate and intense, like every episode was Waiting in the Wings. But it also wasn't super healthy. Angel and Cordelia was a more mature love built on friendship and respect.
However, various events (particularly Cordelia's possession by Jasmine) kept them from admitting their feelings to each other, although shortly before Cordelia died, they revealed their love for one another and shared a single kiss. She died loving Angel, knowing that Angel loved her back.
After making love with Buffy, Angel is racked with pain as his soul is ripped from him. In the street, he kills a passer-by when she offers to help him. He goes to the factory to join Spike and Drusilla, but the Judge attacks him. It is unable to burn him because Angel has fully reverted to the evil Angelus.
He was forced by his restored conscience to reconcile with his sinful past; however, the curse came with an additional danger: Angel could never experience true happiness, as it would result in the removal of his soul. Angel lost his soul twice: first, when he slept with Buffy Summers, and again, due to a spell.
