As others point out, there is probably no relationship at all until after the fall of
The son of Thranduil, and so a prince of the Woodland Realm in the northeast of Mirkwood, Legolas was descended from the Sindar, but counted himself one of the Silvan people.
Legolas and Arwen in Rivendell
These two elves aren't actually seen together at any point in the trilogy, but they do in fact have a strong sense of kinship, which can be seen in one of these unused clips where Legolas arrives in Rivendell and Arwen and a host of other elves are there to meet him.
Legolas's people are a blend of Silvan and Sindar Elves. His grandfather, Oropher, was a refugee from the great Elven city of Doriath, which was destroyed in the terrible battle with Morgoth at the end of the First Age.
Legolas was not related to Galadriel at all. Except as they were both elves. Legolas was from the el who had never left Middle-earth to go to Aman Valinor. Galadriel came from Aman where she was born.
By far. Legolas is a baby compared to Gandalf. Gandalf is an Ainu, a race that is older than time and space itself. The Ainur sang the universe into existence in a music called Ainulindalë, directed by the over-god Eru, and those who felt called, later stepped down on Arda/ Earth to realize their vision of the world.
His prowess with a bow was unmatched among the Fellowship and, as J.R.R. Tolkien stated himself, Legolas was “endowed with the tremendous vitality of Elvish bodies,” as well as an inability to feel terrible hurts, which made it easy for him to travel long distances over rough terrain in only light shoes.
What is Legolas syndrome? The actor is suffering from Legolas Syndrome — where you accidentally get cast into a role that suits you far more than your real-life looks, leaving you with a tricky predicament after the wrap party.
He Only Speaks To Frodo Once
In fact, the two of them only spoke once in the entirety of Peter Jackson's trilogy.
Arwen is one of the half-elven who lived during the Third Age; her father was Elrond half-elven, lord of the Elvish sanctuary of Rivendell, while her mother was the Elf Celebrian, daughter of the Elf-queen Galadriel, ruler of Lothlórien. She marries the Man Aragorn, who becomes King of Arnor and Gondor.
“You gave me a very special bow, and I look after it.” In related news, sources reveal that I “had such a crush” on Aragorn, son of Arathorn, called Elessar, the Elfstone, Dúnadan, the heir of Isildur Elendil's son of Gondor.
Aragorn and Legolas are long-time companions and best friends since Legolas' father Thranduil sent him to live among the Rangers of the North. Aragorn and Legolas grew close, up to the point where Aragorn revealed his true identity to Legolas. Throughout his journeys, Aragorn and Legolas are as close as brothers.
"Legolas Greenleaf long under tree, In joy thou hast lived, Beware of the Sea! If thou hearest the cry of the gull on the shore, Thy heart shall then rest in the forest no more."
Legolas never marries. The closest he gets is spending the rest of his life, as far as we know, with Gimli; they travel around Middle Earth for decades together, and eventually Gimli is given special dispensation to travel to the Undying Lands with his "friend" Legolas—the only dwarf ever to do so.
Legolas Was 2,931 Years Old (in the Films)
Tolkien actually never specified an age for the bow-toting Silvan Elf.
Having Legolas appear in The Rings of Power is no more a canon distortion than having Gandalf there. The Wizards, Istari, weren't sent to Middle Earth until roughly a thousand years into the Third Age, and there is no evidence, in the books and the Lord of the Rings movies, that Legolas was born before the Third Age.
Posted on Reddit by user applecub, the theory posits that Legolas' name slipped Frodo's mind since their introduction was brief and overshadowed by the daunting task of destroying the One Ring. By the time they reunited in Rivendell, Frodo didn't ask Legolas for his name to avoid offending him.
However, a specific scene in The Lord of the Rings has led fans to theorize that Frodo and Legolas didn't talk, not because of time, but because the hobbit didn't know Legolas' name (and was too embarrassed to ask).
As many have observed before, the interactions between Frodo and Legolas are severely limited in the trilogy even though they are allies. In fact, there's only one line that Legolas says to Frodo: “And you have my bow.”
It's implied that Legolas was too young to know her very well, which helped cause this rift. Though his affection for Tauriel could be blamed for his rebellion in The Hobbit, it was more likely due to this tension with his father.
Legolas stuck around for another 120 years before Aragorn died, which was when he finally decided that his own time in Middle-earth might be up as well. He built his own ship and, in a pretty unprecedented honor, invited Gimli to accompany him to the Undying Lands.
One such power is his incredible eye-sight, something that all Elves are gifted with. In The Two Towers, Legolas is able to track the Orcs while being 20 kilometers away from them, as well as know that "The White Wizard" is coming long before Aragorn and Gimli can. His "Elf-eyes" are basically binoculars.
5 Galadriel Was The Strongest Of All The Elves That Remained In Middle-Earth. In The Lord of the Rings period, Galadriel was known as "the mightiest and fairest of all the Elves that remained in Middle-earth," a recognition that was completely deserved.
God is the most powerful entity in Tolkien's Lord of the Rings universe. The Elvish name for him is actually Eru Ilúvatar, meaning “the one, father of all.” So the question becomes: Who is the second-most powerful being? Originally, it was Melkor, “he who arises in might,” the most powerful of the Ainur (or angels).
