Its intense, morally ambiguous characters and storylines are meant for mature audiences. Main character Walter White (Bryan Cranston) starts out as an essentially good person who's driven to extreme negative behavior (manufacturing methamphetamines and more) by depression and desperation.
If your kid knows that doing drugs is not the way to go and to never ever do them then this show is fine for people 12+. There are some gory parts but you legit can close your eyes if you can't watch. There is some sex in it but they really don't show a lot so there is nothing to really worry about it.
Not only are those present throughout the series but there are also references to drugs as well. Some characters are even seen doing cocaine in Season 5 episode 2 and 3 and there are references to methamphetamine as well. So, Better Call Saul I'd say is best for ages 13 and up.
Parents need to know that Peaky Blinders is a drama of uncommon quality, but it's not for kids. Brutal violence is frequent and includes point-blank shootings, stabbings, impalements, torture, and threats of terrible injuries such as cut-out tongues.
Ozymandias (S5, E14)
"Ozymandias" has gone down as one of the highest-rated episodes in television history. The episode begins with the aftermath of Uncle Jack's confrontation with Hank. Despite Walt bribing Jack in order to save Hank's life, he watches as Hank is executed and buried in the desert.
The show is fantastic and I would recommend it to anyone who hasn't watched it yet. It has intense violence at certain parts, there is clearly a lot of illegal drug use, there is a moderate amount of sexual content with some nudity in the pilot episode, and there is a good amount of swearing throughout the show.
Violence & Gore (29) Many people are killed throughout but most are just shootings with some blood. There are some messy crime scenes with bloody imagery. While brutal and disturbing violence does occur, it is not the focus of the show.
Netflix recommends it for ages 16+. Of course, that's just a general guideline - and certainly not a prohibition. Netflix also says (on the series overview) that the series is “violent, gritty, dark”. So, I guess the “16+” recommendation is due to this violence.
Parents need to know that the level of violence is very intense in Squid Game. Characters are systematically tortured and killed for the sadistic pleasure of a game master. Adults have sex, and there are threats of sexual violence: Women are grabbed by the hair and beaten.
The Common Sense experts say the show is fine for kids 13+, while both parents and kids agree the show is appropriate for ages 12+.
For Mature Teenagers and Up.

What is the age rating for breaking? Rated PG-13 for some violent content, and strong language.
Breaking Bad
Uses the censored version for Season Three. As a result sexuality is toned down. (This censorship was originally done by AMC in order to get the TV-14 rating.)
The MPAA rating has been assigned for “some violent content, and strong language.” The Kids-In-Mind.com evaluation includes a gunshot that kills someone with blood shown, an extended hostage situation with threats of blowing up the building where they are held, many arguments, many discussions of the mishandling of ...
Tomás Cantillo is a minor yet pivotal antagonist in Breaking Bad. He is an eleven-year-old boy who worked for local drug dealers and is the younger brother of Andrea Cantillo, the girlfriend of deuteragonist Jesse Pinkman. He was portrayed by Angelo Martinez.
The Child Mind Institute, an independent nonprofit dedicated to children's mental health and learning disorders, wrote an article saying, "no one should watch Squid Game until late adolescence—with or without parents sitting next to them." Common Sense Media says "the level of violence is very intense," "characters are ...
“It's people who are desperate competing to the death for the amusement of the ultra rich.” It's rated not appropriate for kids under 16. Common Sense Media notes that Squid Game has strong acting and sleek production values but is extremely violent and very weak on positive messages or positive role models.
Bodies are shown hanging for all the contenders to see. Organs are removed from some dead bodies. Shots showing eyeballs, a heart and other organs are clearly visible, though only for a few seconds.
Expect graphic depictions of sex, full-frontal nudity, and occasional drug use (including pot, cocaine, and abuse of prescription drugs), along with ongoing alcohol abuse (by kids and adults). Kids engage in iffy, illegal behavior that doesn't typically result in negative consequences.
Phoenix (Breaking Bad)
Breaking Bad can be considered as the greatest TV show of all time according to IMDb. The hit series has long maintained a spot at the top of the list of the best-reviewed TV shows, as averaged by fan voting for each episode. It has a strong 95% approval rating with nearly two million total votes.
Andrea's Assassination
While Jesse is restrained in a car, he is forced to watch Todd (Jesse Plemmons)— one of his former partners — deceives Andrea and shoots her in the back of her head. It is a horrifying scene because Andrea was killed in a split second in front of Jesse.
After a five season run, tonight marks the conclusion of the critically acclaimed Breaking Bad -- one of the most tragic, stressful, gut-wrenching television experiences I have ever endured. Each excruciating, emotionally taxing episode made me feel like I was walking on shards of glass.
You're not wrong -- it is a depressing and violent show. That's actually a deliberate choice in the storytelling, because if everything went Walt's way, or if everything turned out okay, it would seem fake and "TV-ish."
