What makes Cravendale so deliciously pure? At Cravendale we love a filter. Even our milk is filtered for purity which is why it stays fresher for long! No additives or UHT, it's fresh milky goodness, pure and simple.
These sediments are actually high in nutrients, fibre and flavour! While filtered milk is definitely still delicious and healthy, unfiltered milk provides an extra punch of nutrition, as the source of the nutrients are still present in the milk.

As it turns out, Arla Cravendale is actually "fresh milk that's filtered for purity". So just to clarify – not milk, but fresh milk.
It's pasteurised, but the extra filtering makes a huge difference to shelf life. Fine filtered milk will last around 45 days, unopened, compared to about two weeks for unfiltered, ordinary milk. The experts say that that is the main different between them and that nutritionally they're the same.
Theoretically, soy milk should be one of the most sustainable choices. Studies show the greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions associated with its production are much lower than dairy and are about equal to almond and pea milk, and soybeans use less than a tenth of the water almonds do.
At Cravendale we do everything to make milk even better. We use ceramic filters to remove more of the bacteria that turns milk sour. All of this keeps Cravendale wonderfully pure and fresh for twice as long as standard fresh milk without additional heat treatment.
Yes, it's lower in fat and calories than whole milk, and marginally higher in calcium, but some experts suggest that the saturated fat in dairy may not be a problem in terms of heart health. In fact, by drinking skimmed we may be missing out on fat-soluble nutrients like vitamins A and E.
There are NEVER any hormones added to milk – whether conventional or organic – but if you're concerned about the use of bovine growth hormones in cows, USDA organic milk standards prohibit organic dairy farmers from treating the cows with any bovine growth hormones.
Permeate is made when milk is filtered through a fine 'sieve' or membrane using a technique called ultrafiltration. This filtering separates the lactose, vitamins and the minerals (collectively called permeate) from the milk protein and fat.
Low- or non-fat dairy — Skim or 1% milk contains all the protein, vitamins and minerals that whole milk contains, but it has much less saturated fat. This type of milk is typically more heart-healthy than full-fat milk.
Cravendale is currently only produced at the Arla Foods' Hatfield Peverel dairy in Essex where a special filtration process allows all nutrients to be filtered while removing bacteria that may cause the milk to be sour.
Because Cravendale skimmed fresh milk is pure filtered, it retains far more of its creamy taste than ordinary skimmed milk, and at only 0.1% fat, it's ideal as part of a calorie-controlled diet.
Which milk is the best for weight loss? According to a study by NIH, unsweetened almond milk has the lowest calories and aids in a low-carb diet. Almonds also contain a high content of monounsaturated fatty acids (MUFA) that are considered helpful in weight loss and weight management.
Compared to regular milk, ultra-filtered milk is higher in protein and lower in sugar.
Not only is microfiltered pure in flavour and nutrient-dense, but just like all other milk, it's also preservative-free! By choosing microfiltered milk, you're opting for a glass of all that wholesome goodness that makes milk such an enjoyable beverage.

Raw milk, which is unpasteurized, and products made with raw milk can be contaminated with dangerous bacteria such as salmonella, E. coli and listeria, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
Reduced-fat milk, yoghurt and cheese are better options for people with heart disease or high cholesterol. Butter, cream and ice cream are not part of a heart-healthy diet. Unflavoured milk, yoghurt and cheese are 'neutral' for heart health.
