So sure, a DD can be classed as a big cup size, but only if it's on a bigger band size too! And frankly, it's not even that big – the average US bra size is 36DDD and from experience, with more than 90% of the population wearing the wrong size, it could be that that is just the best-selling size.
What does double d boobs look like? Double d boobs mean a 5-inch difference between the size of the chest and the strap, which makes a DD cup about an inch larger than a D cup. If your cup size is double d, your breasts can weigh up to 2.15 pounds.
There's a good reason why most people have voted C Cup as the ideal boob size. The C Cup breast size denotes positive factors such as young age, the right estrogen level and high fertility. C Cup essentially signifies the best matrix in terms of mate selection, as perceived by subconscious evolutionary systems.
Simply put, the difference between a D cup and a DD cup is that; a D cup is larger than an A, B or C cup and slightly smaller than an E cup. On the other hand, a DD cup is slightly larger than an E cup, yet still smaller than an F cup.
Is D or DD cup bigger? There's no difference in the spacing between single and double letter sizes, a DD is one full size larger than D, just like E is one full size larger than DD.
It might seem confusing, but yes a DDD is the same as an F— sometimes they are labeled differently based on the brand. After size D you can either go up to size DD which is the bra size equivalent to size E, size DDD which is equivalent to size F, and size DDDD which is equivalent to size G.
Before the days of Kim Kardashian, Sofia Vergara and Amber Rose, women had a thing about not wanting to appear 'too big'…and manufacturers realised they would sell more bras sized as DD rather than E, because alas, it sounds 'smaller'.
If C cups are the midpoint or medium breast size indicator on the cup size scale, then D cups mark the transition towards larger breasts and DD cups are the exact opposite of A cups.
E is higher than DD. In the U.S. E is not used; sizes generally go D, DD, DDD, G. (There is no DD in the EU's system.)
A breast measurement 5 inches larger than the band size is a DD and a breast measurement 6 inches larger than the band size is a DDD. Some European brands do have E and F cups.

A few styles may also be offered in S-DD (32DD or 34DD), M-DD (36DD), or L-DD (38DD).
Average Cup Size
According to a survey conducted between 1992 and 2013, the average bra size in the U.S. has increased from a 34B to a 34DD, and now just six years later, the average has shot up to a DDD — that's the largest compared to any of the other countries studied.
On the basis of published data and results from this study, it is recommended that patients with a cup size>or=D or a bra size>or=18 could be categorized as having large breasts, with all other patients considered average in size.

BRA SIZING
Most American manufacturers go D, DD, DDD, DDDD. Many European manufacturers go D, E, F, and so on. Manufacturers from the United Kingdom tend to size D, DD, E, F.
While your surgeon cannot promise an exact cup size, it is definitely possible to go from a D to a B cup with a breast reduction.
In American bra size, A DDD cup is also called an F cup, which sits just one size above a G cup. It means that they differ by just one inch. A seven-inch difference between bust and band is a DDD or F cup. Meanwhile, an eight-inch difference puts you at a G cup range.
For some reason, we have been brainwashed into thinking that boob sizes go from A-DD, DD being the biggest boob/bra size. DD is actually at the lower end of the scale, there is still E, F, FF, G, GG, H, HH, J, JJ, and K cup above that.
Go down a back size = go up a cup size. e.g. a 36DD becomes a 34E. If you go up a back size but stay the same cup size, you'll notice extra room in the cup.
This means a 34DD could also welcome trying a 36D (up a band size, down a cup size) or 32DDD/F (down a band size, up a cup size). Not all sizes are equal. Many believe, the larger the cup size, the larger the bra size.
