While Seasol contains a mixture of brown kelps such as King Island Bull Kelp (Durvillaea potatorum), Chile Bull Kelp (Durvilleae Antarctica), and Knotted Kelp (Ascophyllum nodosum), Eco Seaweed only contains 100% Knotted Kelp. This is harvested from the North Atlantic Ocean.
Apply every 2-4 weeks to stimulate growth, improve the flavour and quality of your herbs, protects plants from stresses such as cold, drought and insect damage. Apply weekly to sick plants. We use Eco Seaweed when we are potting our plants up from tubes or planting them in the ground, it reduces transplant shock.
You can't overdose on Seasol. It's not a Fertiliser. But it does have amazing healing qualities. One capful in a 10 litre watering can will treat around 4m2.
Yes, Seasol can be mixed with any soluble fertiliser.
Almost every keen gardener knows the benefits of Seasol. It's certified organic and Australian made from sustainably harvested sea kelp and is a complete garden health product rich in plant nutrients and trace elements. It's safe for all plants, including natives, and lawns love it!
Seasol is a specially formulated seaweed extract. It's a mixture of Bull Kelp, Chile Bull Kelp and Knotted Kelp. What is this? Seasol is not, strictly speaking, a fertiliser because it contains only low levels of nitrogen and phosphorus.
Seasol is a plant tonic that you mix with water. You can use it everyday when you water your plants without any damage. It encourages sick plants to grow new roots. These roots can then take up the water and your plants will recover.
Seasol and PowerFeed are liquids, they are readily absorbed into the soil and the plant foliage. Therefore you do not need to water them in.
Seasol is great for all plants, including lawns, fruit trees and vegetables. In fact, it can also be used on any shrubs, flowers or ornamentals in your garden.
Do not apply when rain is expected as it will just get washed away. Spray should not come into contact with foliage/roots of plants that you do not want to kill. Seasol Another brilliant product!
After mowing apply Seasol hose-on to strengthen leaf blades to reduce stress from heat and drought. Apply it early morning so the grass has time to dry before the onset of a cool night. For more details check out our video “How to Care for Lawns – Mowing & maintenance”.
For optimum results it should be applied to the garden every 2 weeks, more frequently (every week) if plants are under stress. Unlike fertilizers, Seasol can be applied all year round, even in winter and at the height of summer.
You can apply a seaweed solution in early morning or late afternoon. It can be applied over the foliage and around the root system of the plant. It is usually applied every 2-4 weeks. You can continue to water your plants anytime after applying the product.
You can put them directly on beds; they will be salty, so you can't plant direct into them, but a winter of rain will wash the excess salt away. If you don't have beds that are suitable for such methods, add the seaweed to your compost, or compost it on its own.
The product gives clear instructions of what frequency of application is required for your grass, it says treat 10 milliliters for every 5 liters of water once a month and that'll treat around 2.5 meters squared.
To use it, dilute one part to 10 parts water and then spray on plants in a fine mist or apply with a watering can until the liquid drips off the leaves.
They work within the soil and lawn for up to 12 weeks. A liquid form is usually applied after the turf has been laid or the seed sown and are applied every week for the first six weeks. Seasol Lawn & Turf Starter is an excellent example of a lawn starter to get your lawn off to a great start.
One of the best and most popular is Seasol which needs to be diluted with water (1 teaspoon to 1 litre of water) and poured over your plants on watering day about once a month in the warmer months.
For 1 litre of water add 2.5ml of Seasol Plus. For 3 litres of water add 7.5ml of Seasol Plus. For 5 litres of water add 12.5ml of Seasol Plus. For 7 litres of water add 17.5ml of Seasol Plus.
Though one of the best things you can do, is get your hands on some Seasol Foliar Spray, which when sprayed directly on the foliage, stimulates new plant growth. Because it is applied directly to the leaves, it's absorbed instantly.
Seasol has almost no NPK
The role a fertilizer truly plays is to supplement the plant with the nutrients – mainly NPK – that it is not getting from the soil. Seasol has only tiny, almost unnoticeable amounts of the most important nutrients your lawns and plants need to thrive.
There is minimal chance of burning or leaching with Yates Dynamic Lifter. Pellets allow easy application to garden beds, planting holes and break down slowly.
Dynamic Lifter is a more balanced fertiliser when compared to Blood & Bone. While Dynamic Lifter has a poultry manure base and other added ingredients, Blood & Bone is 65% meat meal and contains cow manure. Essentially this means that the nutrient ratios of each product are different.
Seasol Advanced provides a dynamic combination of benefits to every plant in the garden including natives. It has the plant tonic effects of Seasol to stimulate root growth, enhance flowering and fruiting and increases tolerance to drought, frost, heat, pests and disease.
