Elsa is the former main antagonist and anti-hero of Frozen. She is the Queen of Arendelle, who accidentally freezes her kingdom, causing her to serve as the films antagonist for a big portion of the plot.
Even after the script was changed to make Anna and Elsa sisters, Elsa retained her villainous status as Anna's jealous and bitter sibling that sought to take the kingdom for herself. She would have her snowmen capture Anna, but would eventually face a redemption when Prince Hans threatened both her and Anna.
They're not princesses.
Both Anna and Elsa ultimately serve as queens of Arendelle. Now, you don't technically have to be a princess to be an official “Disney Princess” — just of “regal lineage”.
Prince Hans of the Southern Isles is a fictional character from Walt Disney Animation Studios' animated film Frozen. He is voiced by Santino Fontana in the film. Hans is the thirteenth prince of the Southern Isles.
Finally, fans believe Honeymaren (a member of Northuldra) is likely to return as Elsa's girlfriend. Honeymaren is a member of Northuldra, Ryder's sister who wants to bring peace to the enchanted forest.

If you haven't seen Frozen 2, you may be wondering, wait– how come Anna isn't a princess? Well, after Elsa was crowned as queen of Arendelle, she then resigned to become the fifth spirit, and Anna took her place. This made Anna the queen, and you simply can't be a queen and a princess all at once!
Kristen Bell (Anna) said simply, "that's up to Elsa." Jonathan Groff, who voices Kristoff, said, “I love that Elsa, unlike any other princess, is not defined by any kind of romantic relationship—that she's just an independent woman."
But making Elsa evil throughout the story and then saving her at the end wasn't good enough for the production team. "The problem was that we felt like we had seen it before," says Peter Del Vecho says. "It wasn't satisfying.
The true hero is: Anna! Of course it's Anna. She's brave and true and takes the same risks as Elsa without the fallback of ice magic to save her.
These strong female characters certainly have their weaknesses; they wouldn't be very interesting characters if they didn't. Elsa can be distant to the people she loves, she has trouble accepting help, and she fails to recognize her own limitations.
However, after Elsa accidentally hurt Anna with her powers and Anna's memories had to be erased, she grew afraid of her powers and was unable to appropriately control them. She lived in fear of hurting anyone with her powers, and spent much of her formative years shut out from the world.
Elsa is one of the most powerful Disney princesses thanks to her magical ice powers. The heiress to the Arendelle throne is easily capable of manipulating ice, snow, and water.
Lee says the core of the story was always about two sisters, and romance just wasn't where they were with Elsa as they wrote the sequel. "We couldn't change that from the outside because it wouldn't be authentic," Lee said. "So we didn't build Elsa a romantic story line.
However, Elsa, while forgiving her for the cornation incident, turns down Anna's help and orders her to leave. Anna informs her of the eternal winter that has engulfed Arendelle. Upset and stressed, Elsa loses control of her powers, striking Anna in her heart and thus endangering her health.
There is something wrong with her. As a result of the traumatic event, the King and Queen isolate both sisters within the castle, closing the property off to their subjects. Worried she could injure her sister again with her unpredictable (and growing) powers, Elsa ceases all contact with Anna.
