Ferrero SpA (Italian pronunciation: [ferˈrɛːro]), more commonly known as Ferrero Group or simply Ferrero, is an Italian multinational company with headquarters in Alba, Italy. manufacturer of branded chocolate and confectionery products, and the second biggest chocolate producer and confectionery company in the world.
THE BEGINNING IN ALBA AND THE FOLLOWING YEARS
After World War II, The Ferrero' family was the first Italian manufacturerto open production sites and offices abroad in the confectionary sector, turning the company into a truly international Group.
The Ferrero story began in 1946 with a small factory in the northern Italian town of Alba. Just 20 years later, the firm opened its first operations in the UK and has been committed to providing our consumers with high brands such as Ferrero Rocher, Tic Tac, Nutella and Kinder Surprise ever since.
Michele Ferrero, the credited inventor, named the chocolate after a grotto in the Roman Catholic shrine of Lourdes, Rocher de Massabielle. Rocher comes from French and means rock or boulder. Ferrero Rocher is a chocolate sweet made by Italian chocolatier Ferrero SpA.
The recipe was improved and the first-ever jar of a new hazelnut and cocoa cream was created, a name that today is synonymous with the spread & smile: Nutella®. With its iconic design, Nutella® was launched in Germany.
50 YEARS OF HISTORY. The story of the KINDER™ brand begins in 1968 at the heart of a small Italian town named Alba. Michele Ferrero developed KINDER CHOCOLATE and added what would become a famous brand for the Ferrero company, which remains family owned today.

Ferrero Rocher was launched in Australia and New Zealand in 1983 and since that time it has become an essential part of special celebrations in both countries.

Fun fact: The chocolate layer that surrounds the hazelnut in the middle of each Ferrero Rocher is Nutella.
Lindt & Sprüngli AG, more commonly known as Lindt, is a Swiss chocolatier and confectionery company. The origins of the company date back to 1845. David Sprüngli-Schwarz and his daughter, Anna Burleson, owned a small confectionery shop in the old town of Zürich.
Kinder chocolate was first introduced to the German market in 1968 and quickly hit the Italian market that same year before spreading to other countries in the Mediterranean region. The chocolate is still being produced in Germany and Italy.
Kinder Bueno (Kinder is German for "children", bueno is Spanish for "good") is a chocolate bar and wafer confection made by Italian confectionery maker Ferrero.

HISTORY OF FERRERO IN AUSTRALIA AND NEW ZEALAND
Today, we employ over 300 people across our commercial operations in Australia and New Zealand and our factory in Lithgow, New South Wales. Tic Tac and NUTELLA® have been proudly made in Lithgow for over 40 years.
TIC TAC® is manufactured in Lithgow (also home of the famous Marjorie Jackson, 'The Lithgow Flash'), 3 hours west of Sydney.

The word kindergarten comes from the German language. Kinder means children and garten means garden. The term dates back to the 19th century. Friedrich Froebel (1782-1852) started the first kindergarten, Garden of Children, in 1840.
Actually the Kinder Egg is not a German candy, it's a product of the Italian company Ferrero. In Frankfurt we have Ferrero Germany, so the Kinder Eggs, as well as the other Kinder products like the Happy Hippos we sent in our last Candy German box, are produced in Germany, too.
