The majority position today, at least among philosophers, is that God is everlasting but temporal. That is, God never began to exist, and he will never go out of existence. God does, however, experience temporal succession.
God and eternity are important concepts in theology. Theists say that God is eternally existent. How this is understood depends on which definition of eternity is used. God may exist in eternity or outside the human concept of time, but also inside of time.
As mentioned earlier, evidence for God's existence is widely available through creation, conscience, rationality and human experience. What is more, the biblical faith—unlike other traditional religions—is checkable; it opens itself up to public scrutiny.
The very first verse of the Bible says, "In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth" (Genesis 1:1). Elsewhere the Bible says, "Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made" (John 1:3). But God had no beginning! He has always existed -- and He always will.
A scientist has calculated that there is a 67% chance that God exists. Dr Stephen Unwin has used a 200-year-old formula to calculate the probability of the existence of an omnipotent being.
Are scientists religious? Scientists hold a wide range of positions about religion. Many scientists who believe in God, either as a primordial creator or as an active force in the universe, have written eloquently about their beliefs.
He was working on concepts like air, water, gravity, sex, etc, when He decided to create the world so that there would be a place where those concepts could be put to good use.
God truly is infinite. Therefore nothing can oppose Him. This powerful truth--understood--brings healing. 1 Psalms 139:7-10.
He created people out of love for the purpose of sharing love. People were created to love God and each other. Additionally, when God created people, he gave them good work to do so that they might experience God's goodness and reflect his image in the way they care for the world and for each other.
Mercier and colleagues divide the proximate causes of religious belief into three types: cognitive, motivational, and societal. One cognitive factor is an analytical thinking style. People who tend to act according to reason rather than intuition are also less likely to believe in God.
God knows everything we are going through at this very moment and everything we will go through in the future. He knows the best way to handle every situation so we get the best possible outcome and we need to trust him with that. We need to follow his path and trust that he knows best, because he does.
In Christianity, Jesus is the Son of God as written in the Bible's New Testament, and in mainstream Christian denominations he is God the Son, the second Person in the Trinity.
It refers to the Christian belief that God does not depend on any cause other than himself for his existence, realization, or end, and has within himself his own reason of existence. This represents God as absolutely independent and self-existent by nature.
The term has its roots in Genesis 1:27, wherein "God created man in his own image. . ." This scriptural passage does not mean that God is in human form, but rather, that humans are in the image of God in their moral, spiritual, and intellectual nature.
We ask, "If all things have a creator, then who created God?" Actually, only created things have a creator, so it's improper to lump God with his creation. God has revealed himself to us in the Bible as having always existed. Ray Comfort, author and evangelist, writes: No person or thing created God.
Luke 1:37: “For nothing will be impossible with God.”
Nothing is impossible with You, God! You see things differently than I do, and so You bring about things in ways I could never conceive—all for our good and Your glory.
Nothing is too hard or difficult for God. The Word of God declares that when you believe God in your situation, all things become possible to him that believes. Mark 9:23 “JESUS said unto him, If thou canst believe, ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE to him THAT BELIEVETH”.
God is an infinitely perfect being because in Him there is no limitation of any kind. God is an infinitely perfect spiritual being, without beginning or end. He knows and loves without limit. Angels and men are also spiritual beings, but being creatures, they are limited or finite.
God is the One who decides who does or does not enter heaven. There's no place in the Bible that says they were saved. But there is no place in the Bible that indicates the couple was lost, either.
Trinitarians believe that God is composed of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
Psalm 90:2 says, “From forever in the past to forever in the future, you are God.” — Common English Bible. This God is so unlimited in power that time and space cannot bind Him or define Him. He created a universe that has no beginning and no end (Genesis 1:1).
And the more accomplished you get as a scientist, the less religious you become,” he says. A 1998 survey found that 93% of the members of the National Academy of Sciences, one of the most prestigious scientific organizations in the U.S., don't believe in God.
A commonly held modern view is that Buddhism is exceptionally compatible with science and reason, or even that it is a kind of science (perhaps a "science of the mind" or a "scientific religion").
One idea is that, as humans evolved from small hunter-gatherer tribes into large agrarian cultures, our ancestors needed to encourage cooperation and tolerance among relative strangers. Religion then—along with the belief in a moralizing God—was a cultural adaptation to these challenges.
