The Bible teaches that God's sovereignty is an essential aspect of who he is, that he has supreme authority and absolute power over all things. And yes he is very much active, despite our perplexity. Scripture says, God works “all things according to the counsel of his will” (Ephesians 1:11).
GOD IS STILL IN CONTROL OF THE WORLD
- Proverbs 21:1 'The king's heart is in the hand of the Lord, like the waters; He turns it wherever He wishes. ' - Even those who are in authority, He is in control of. - God can turn any situation around.
God is SOVEREIGN over ALL things. He has the authority (right), power, and wisdom to do all that He pleases. Every part of God's creation—all places, objects, creatures, people, and even Satan—is under God's sovereign will and rule.
As Founder and Creator of the heavens and the earth and all that is in them, God holds the rights to all of it. That includes even us – our bodies, our minds, and our lives.
1 Chronicles 29:11-12
Yours, O Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the victory and the majesty, for all that is in the heavens and in the earth is yours. Yours is the kingdom, O Lord, and you are exalted as head above all. Both riches and honor come from you, and you rule over all.
Why do we worry when God is in control of everything? We worry because we are sinners. It is a sin because we struggle to obey Jesus' command not to worry. In Matthew 6:25, Jesus commands us “not to worry about our life, what we will eat or drink or about our bodies or what we will wear.
If you've read the story of the Hebrew Bible (or Old Testament, you know that it tells the story of God's interaction with one particular nation, Israel. The Hebrew Scriptures are full of language about Israel's special status as God's chosen nation.
Jeremiah 10:23 NLT
I know, LORD, that our lives are not our own. We are not able to plan our own course.
God's omnipresence means that He is present everywhere, all the time. His presence is not limited by time or space. Because God created the universe, He is above all things and holds all things together (Colossians 1:17).
11 No other nation has ever changed its gods, even though they were not real. But my people have exchanged me, the God who has brought them honor, for gods that can do nothing for them.
God's Control over the Universe (Gen. 1:26-31; Amos 9:1-6) All things, including man, came into existence through the creative work of God and their continuous existence is subject to His will. God stays in heaven, controlling and watching man as he carries out God's instructions.
God is the ruler with absolute power. He made all things; he is not the work of man's hands, nor a god of man's imaginations. We find the phrase (verse 24), “Sovereign Lord, who made the heavens and the earth and the sea and everything in them,” throughout the Scriptures.
The word omniscience means all knowing. Omni meaning all and science meaning knowledge. The word is not found anywhere in the Bible, but the truth of God being omniscient is revealed throughout its pages from Genesis to Revelation.
Sometimes when bad things happen, they empower us to act and serve. Even the Savior, our example, suffered infirmities, “that his bowels may be filled with mercy” and so that He could know “how to succor his people” (Alma 7:12). Trials can open our eyes to those who are suffering.
Only God can make a difference, only God can make things happen - Luke 1:37. When God is involved nothing shall be impossible. Getting God involved means His presence being active or visible in one's life. His involvement brings divine activities that will propel you into glorious life.
We will know we belong to God, first, by our faith, love and hope (1 Thess. 1:1-4). Second, by the way the gospel has changed us and is still changing us (v. 5-7).
The Christian answer is obvious: My body belongs to God. In fact, my body is owned twice by God, once because he created it and again because he redeemed it. “I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made” (Psalm 139:14); “For you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body” (1 Corinthians 6:20).
“I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. “I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil.” (John 17:11, 14–15.)
What is the birthplace of Jesus? Jesus Christ is thought to have been born in Israel's Bethlehem. Mary and Joseph, who were engaged at the time of Jesus' birth, were his parents.
In the Bible days, God Almighty made a choice among all the people He created and set them apart to execute the important purposes of His providence. That they were chosen to this high destiny was not on account of their extraordinary merits, but because God wanted to illustrate His glory to all mankind through them.
What happens when you allow God to lead your life? Your life will never look the same again. It is the most freedom you will ever experience because you realize it is no longer about you it is about God, others and your love for all that God has created. It is a selfless life of love and goodness.
Well, the real reason why letting go and letting God take control can be difficult is because we don't fully know the character of God… We can trust God when times are tough — but only up to a point. We run towards God when things are hard — but only up to a point.
