Ultimately Grogu makes the decision to quit Jedi training and return to
While fans don't know the state of Grogu's well-being in the sequel trilogy, his ties to Mandalore might explain why Kylo Ren doesn't kill him. It's likely Grogu stays with Din Djarin and the Mandalorians, and never returns to embark on his training with Luke.
Despite his personal affections, Din Djarin set out to return Grogu to his own “people,” the Jedi. Ahsoka Tano refused to take the Child in because she no longer considers herself a Jedi.
He was found by Din Djarin five years after the events of Return of the Jedi; although Grogu initially considered training as a Jedi, he ultimately chose to return to his father figure, instead becoming a Mandalorian.
Grogu Was Saved By a New Character
Yet the Jedi is not a household name, and not someone anybody likely suspected. The door opens to reveal that it is Jedi Master Kelleran Beq standing there, and he helps get Grogu to safety and off Coruscant.
Grogu survived the Great Jedi Purge and was hidden away. Grogu was rediscovered by a remnant of the Galactic Empire after it fell, and became known to many simply as "The Child," during the New Republic Era. However Grogu was rescued by Din Djarin, a Mandalorian bounty hunter where he became a foundling.
Ahmed Best—who played Jar Jar Binks in the Star Wars prequel trilogy—returned to the franchise as Jedi Knight Kelleran Beq on The Mandalorian. He was the previously unknown Jedi who ultimately rescued Grogu from Coruscant during Order 66.
Grogu chose the latter, meaning he gave up his chance at getting his own lightsaber. After picking Din's gift of beskar chainmail armor, Grogu left the other option of Yoda's lightsaber in the hands of Luke.
Grogu appears to be the youngest known member of Yoda's species. He is only 50 years old, and he is still developmentally an infant. For the whole first season of The Mandalorian™, they referred to him only as the Child.
Some fans even hypothesized that Grogu literally was a "Baby Yoda" and represented a reincarnated form of the Jedi Master. This is impossible due to Grogu having already been born when Yoda was still alive. Thus, while the Mandalorian is Grogu's adoptive father, his actual parents remain a mystery.
Why did Anakin not kill Grogu? Ahsoka: “At the end of the clone wars, when the Empire rose to power, he was hidden. Someone took him from the temple.” For now, this is all we know about how Grogu escaped, but to answer your question, Anakin didn't kill him because he wasn't there.
Who Saved Grogu From Order 66? As depicted in "Chapter 20: The Foundling," Grogu was rescued from the attack on the Jedi Temple by Jedi Master Kelleran Beq. Beq completed the daring escape that got Grogu to safety, then escaped the attack with his life.
Grogu isn't mentioned to Rey by Luke, but that's purely because The Mandalorian, Grogu, and Disney+ didn't exist when The Force Awakens script was written.
Grogu is not in the sequel trilogy, so he must have died sometime before the beginning of Episode VII.
N'Kata Del Gormo was a Force-sensitive male Hysalrian Jedi Master who lived during the times of the Galactic Republic. According to legend, he found and trained Yoda and a Force-sensitive Human friend.
Kylo Ren Biography Gallery. Ben Solo, son of Han Solo and Leia Organa, was once a promising Jedi apprentice taught by his uncle Luke Skywalker. But under the influence of the mysterious Snoke, Ben rejected Luke's teachings and destroyed his temple, leaving with several of his uncle's students and killing the rest.
So while Grogu is learning Mandalorian culture, is part of a Mandalorian clan, wears pieces of Mandalorian armor, and is undergoing Mandalorian training, he's still a ways away from becoming a full-fledged Mandalorian.
Din Djarin Being Grogu's Father Is The Best Parent Reveal
In order for Grogu to move on from his status as a foundling, Din adopts him, and the Armorer gives Grogu the name Din Grogu.
Beyond the Force powers exhibited by his species, it is also possible that Grogu specifically is of special importance to the Jedi Order. The Mandalorian is seeing him begin to embrace both Jedi and Mandalorian teachings, something that may give him a unique position in the galaxy.
R2-D2, the indomitable droid and mainstay of the Star Wars series, may be responsible for one more incredible feat: saving Grogu.
In other words, Filoni suggests that, even though Grogu doesn't appear in the Sequel films, the Star Wars galaxy is so vast that he could still be out there but on a completely different adventure that kept him away from all of that First Order and Sith Eternal drama.
After Yoda's death in 4 ABY, the lightsaber with its accompanying storage box ended up in the possession of Yoda's last Jedi apprentice, Luke Skywalker. In 9 ABY, Skywalker offered the saber to Grogu, a young member of Yoda's species; who was being trained by Skywalker at his Jedi academy on the Outer Rim planet Ossus.
Basically, Grogu is either the illicit love child of Yoda and Yaddle, was conceived by the Force, or was conceived by same unnamed individuals from Yoda's species.
Aftermath. Although Order 66 greatly depleted the Jedi Order's ranks, with an estimated less than 100 Jedi surviving it, it was only the beginning of the Great Jedi Purge, which stretched on for years and claimed the lives of many of the survivors of the initial onslaught.
Former Jedi Barriss Offee betrayed the Order — and led Ahsoka to leave Jedi behind, too. But why? While most Star Wars fans know that Ahsoka Tano left the Jedi Order, those who haven't watched Star Wars: The Clone Wars might not know the circumstances that led to her decision.
